I just found your channel last night. I'm on my 3rd of your vids, as I play Scum and watch youtube from a hospital bed recovering from surgery. Your thorough, yet concise style is fantastic. Have you looked into farming cannabis and tobacco to make cigarettes to sell to the trader for profit?

I hope your recovery goes well, and I have not looked into selling tabaco or cannabis due to my money making is from Bunkers, Kilboxes and so on, I don't normally have issues with money. But I may try it to see if it's worth for new players.

@@palfy205 helpful but not thoroughly. Didn't mention how the heck you get that window up with how much sunlight and water it has. I am pressing right click nothing comes up. What comes up is destroy plant. Figured it out on my own, would have been much helpful if you said focus on the plant.

@@palfy205 yes you mentioned it but not thoroughly like some said. If it was thoroughly you would have said "the same way you focus but on the plant". I'm on controller that's why. But it still helped me a little bit. I had to figure it out on my own, first I held right click elsewhere and saw that it's the focus button, then I knew that you need to focus on the plant.

Do we need to destroy the plants after harvesting and then plant the seeds again or do we just keep watering and fertilizing after harvest for the veggies to grow back?

Based on my experience, I've noticed that if you take care of your garden by regularly removing weeds, the plants tend to survive after harvesting. By providing adequate fertilization and watering, you can extend their lifespan (although I'm not exactly sure by how much). However, neglecting the garden will result in the plants withering and dying. So, there's usually no need to destroy the plants unless they show signs of distress.

Thanks for this info video. I have one question. After i have Harvest the plants did they grow automatic ore did i have to plant after the harvest every plant new?

They will die after several harvests, I have found that failing to harvest them for longer periods of time speeds up the decaying process, harvest once a day they'll last a couple weeks.

Please note: Garlic can be used as a substitute for antibiotics. Eating it gives you a lesser, shorter effect of antibiotics, but it's enough to make you replace your antibiotics usage with garlic, and then sell the antibiotics to the trader's for profit. I highly recommend people who build farms ignore this advice and plant more garlic, since by itself it's a powerful antibiotic.

@michaeltraxem7755 This guide was released before garlic had any antibiotic properties. Look at the year. You find so much garlic in the game that you should have plenty to deal with your injuries. But hey, if you're getting a royal beat down by every puppet plant, tons of it

Not much. With the new update, I haven't fiddled with it. But if you hold focus after using it, you'll see the active effect. But none of them last long enough to be worth using in multi-player since time goes by when you're offline.

personally I have found both to be totally useless and a waste of time, as they wear off often. Crops grow with or without weeds.

Yes, you can collect seeds from any fruit or vegetable that's plantable and you will gain 100% seeds, evne if the fruit or vegetable is below that.

Takes time, but you don't have to be there doing anything, just plant it and walk away. It beats looking for corn in plants and other food, but if you have money, just go buy food :P

God mode plots still produce weeds and weedkiller only kills existing weeds, won't stop them coming back

It precents them from coming for a couple of in-game hours. It's weed repellent. The repell time needs to be boosted. You can test it if you'd like. I have and came to the conclusion that it works, but not well. Some garden plots glitch and don't produce weeds. Several people on the server have noticed that who knows why or what starts it, but I think it's random.

@@ruscala322 just tested it and the weed repellant still works but hold Right click and analyse the plot, it will show you when the weed repellant stops working it removes it from the active effect, only lasted about 30 minutes in real life time. So about 2 hours in-game time, definitely not enough to warrant using for weeds but it does give extra XP.

@@palfy205 Mine must have been bugged, what a surprise with SCUM lol. I managed to build a 4 plot each ten x ten, I use 2 just for weeding xp lol. 15000 on med, 25000 on advanced for each plot weeded 😀

Watering is overrated. I have a garden in the warm zone, doesn't matter. Stuff still grows. Maybe it grows better with water, but to me it never made a difference. I would not grow stuff to cook, because it's not worth the time investment. Just plant things that give good calories and water. Potatoes and Pears are absolute best. Corn is very good too. If you are far from a water source, plant things that give a lot of water, like cucumbers, broccoli and cabbage. If you put some apples and tomatoes in there, you'll have all nutrients covered. Citrus, figs, etc. only grow in the warm(er) areas of the map. They will grow in the others too, but not actually yield a result. It's also not needed to use fertilizer. If you find it great, but the difference is not big enough to care.

I found that over the long-term garden, fewer crops fie when using fertilizer and also grow quicker and obtain more crops each search. As for water, I notice the only crops that have been dead in my garden were ones without water. It also lowers the quality of the produce quicker. The tests I've done this is what I've come to. Not everyone wants to do the cooking, so that's entirely up to the player. But I've done cooking and enjoy doing some of the more relaxing things to add to the immersive survival experience. Everyone will have their own view thats why in the video, I just say this is a suggestion of what I do. I also did it on PVE, so we do things around cooking and drinking just to chill. I must be located on the cusp of the warm area in b0 because my lemons grew and gave fruit. But thanks for the tip!

Yeah I agree with you there, we defnitely need weeds to be reduced, it's so insane how quickly they come back. I do think other games do the gardening a lot better and I'm hoping that the devs for SCUM takes some suggestions on it. Building a greenhouse type building would be awesome, and being able to add irigation systems that are not just natural through rain would be nice, but we need more of a definitive benefit to it. Great ideas and awesome pictures I never heard of that game before, I'll have to take a peak at it!
