If your stomach is full of fat, use the VOMIT function to clear out the fat, it won't remove anything from your intestines but it will help in the removal of excess fats!

I am working on going through the cookbooks, and I show all the finished recipes. It just takes a while because cooking is all in real time. But as long as you're not adding all the fat to the dish, you should be fine with pasta and soups

I love the cooking system. Also noticed that whenever possible you should leave out the fat, the dish is much better balanced. Great video, keep em coming :)

100% the baking is so much better without cooking oil, that's the biggest downfall, some recipes you can still get 5 star without oil. I think they need to adjust the recipes containing oil as 500ml of oil for some food is just ridiculously high and unrealistic.

its an interesting system and gives us something new to do. I do struggle a bit being a casual player with not a lot of time to play, tho. I just eat what I find raw coz most of the time I am starving.

Yeah finding that initial balance of food to prevent death is important and quite a struggle, eat what you can later on focus more on the details. I think the big points to walk away with even without cooking is 1,) Protein needed for Strength, 2.) Alcohol protects carbs which reduces protein and fat loss. So longer laster calories. Thanks for watching and I'm glad I'm not the only one starving out here on SCUM Island 😂

Awesome video. I have been making fish paprika, since you can grow or fish all the ingredients except salt, and it’s got a great cross section with high protein low fat. Combine that with my potato garden and the macros are looking good. Def gonna add bread to the mix though.

The vitamins and other micro-nutrients affect the speed of macronutrients consumption?
@palfy205
@palfy205 Жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure I understand the question, but please correct me if I interpreted it wrong. Yes, having Carbs in your system reduce the rate in which proteins and fats get broken down. Without carbs (which is other carbs, sugar, fiber, and alcohol) your other macronutrients will be used quicker. Alcohol protect carbs and is burned the first. If this answers your question, then I'm glad, if not, please join my Discord and ask there! discord.gg/uwABphcVHW

What are your thoughts on fishing for tuna instead of meat? To me, tuna is an unlimited resource.

Honestly, I find so much meat from animals I find it quite limitless as well, but if you're in the sport for fishing or want to change it up, I hear people are switching to fishing because of the dislike toward the new hunt system.

Gaining fat means you have a surplus of calories, you need to eat only below 30% not above 80% or else you'll gain fat.

f your dexterity is already at level 5, it's important to know that you can't exceed this value. However, the level of dexterity doesn't directly impact the rate at which you gain fat. What it affects is your current fat amount. To manage fat gain, it's crucial to ensure your calorie storage remains below 100%. This can contribute to fat reduction over time. Regarding the fat indicator on the right side, this might reflect the fat content in the food you're consuming. It's worth considering the types of items you're eating, such as tuna and peach cans, which might contain some fat. Having a certain amount of fat in your diet is not necessarily a negative thing. To fine-tune your fat levels, you could explore foods with lower fat content. Moreover, pay attention to your activity levels and their alignment with your calorie intake. If you're facing challenges, experimentation with both diet and activity might help in finding the right balance for your character. Remember that SCUM's mechanics can be intricate, and finding the optimal approach often involves a bit of trial and error. Best of luck in your endeavors!

TBH as a relatively new player, I find that the complexity of this food system detracting heavily from the broader game which is otherwise awesome fun. I don't think I'm alone in saying that most people want to play this sort of game to play PVP, base building , PVE and the satisfaction of working hard scavenging enough together enough to build and maintain bases and vehicles. This in depth food system to me seems punishing, especially considering food choice is often scarce. It often feels like a digestion simulator and distracts you from doing more fun stuff in the game because you're constantly managing your macros! I have FitDay for that IRL boys! I wish the devs would tone this down a bit. For example, the amount of fat gain and loss due to diet seems to be far too extreme. If you eat a fatty meal without Carbs or Protein available because that's all you have, you can gain 1,000+ grams a day! In what world does that happen? And how tf does loaf of bread contain 25grams of fat? Is it baked in lard? Too much fat as a macro can very quickly drop your Dexterity stat. Which then takes far longer to lose that fat and regain the DEX by going into a fat deficient state. Anyone else agree?
@palfy205
@palfy205 Жыл бұрын
Fat doesn't drop your dexterity. Rather, excess of calories do. You can literally live in this game off only, MRE'S. I don't think the system is as intricate as it seems, and survival should be the utmost importance in the game since that is the genre of the game. Server owners can tweak the rates in which you require food, but I don't eat more than once every hour when I play.
@ronnythomps
@ronnythomps Жыл бұрын
@@palfy205yeah you're right, but fat being a very quick way to get into calorie excess is what I should have added. I know it's a survival title and there should be an element of food management, but for me this takes up too much of a significant chunk of it. I'm otherwise loving it, it's challenging, satisfying with mates. Thanks for the videos btw. they're a massive help. Have you found that much has changed in terms of food and macros since creating this vid from 0.85 > 0.9 ?
@palfy205
@palfy205 Жыл бұрын
@ronnythomps thanks for the kind words. I'm hoping the developers allow server owners to select from a slider. Easy medium hard survival, which will impact food calories, weather hypo/hyperthermia. Ailments and afflictions and infections all that stuff, making it more survival based for the server owner to decide. That way, if people are looking for more PVP or P easy or harder, they're allowed to essentially toggle through service election. Seeing which one would be easy, medium, or hard survival.

Nutrients are of no value in the game as the medical and bandaging in game does no exist for solo play, meaning you will die from an infection or bleeding out long before nutrients have a chance to affect gameplay.

Honestly, that bug has been around too long for the developers to not fix it. I know that's rough, but if you're looking for a better single-player experience since the actual single-player is not working as intended, I would highly recommend looking for a PvE server. New Dawn is a great one for those who seek a challenge. PvE gives the player a single-player experience but at a choice with other players, more like coop. But I totally understand your frustration with it. Hope it gets better for you and that they fix the glitches.
