That’s the one of the worst parts about SBMM. Even when you are doing good you just know your about to get absolutely shit on in a couple games. Pretty sad that you can’t get on and just play casually. I’ve easily reduced the amount of hours I play just cuz I know if I get on I have to basically be a sweat to enjoy it. Can’t just get on, have a couple beers and chill.

A 3.0 KD game might be fun for you, but being at the receiving end of that is pretty much a nightmare. That's why sbmm exists so good players like yourself won't completely annihilate less experienced players for "casual" gaming sessions. Like the phase " Pick someone your own size" am I right? BUT if sbmm puts you in a match against good players after just playing 1 or 2 good games then that is a MAJOR problem. Sbmm should be based on overall performance and not just recent games. Player can't improve if they hit a glass ceiling every after an accomplishment.

Same with Counterstrike. If I wanted to sweat I would play that game. The problem with COD having skill based match making is the skill ceiling is already considerably low compared to CS or Siege and so when they add something like sbmm they artificially increase the top end of the spectrum of the skill ceiling. I totally agree with your ranked play argument and to me (anyone can have a different opinion but it has to come with a proper argument opposed to ignorance) it's obvious that the sbmm only works for retaining noobs. How tf am I supposed to grind camos for a knife or a rocket launcher against sweat players every game? That's literally a core fundamental of the game that is literally harder for a good player to achieve than it would be for a bad player LOL.

It’s worth noting that BOCW’s matchmaking takes whether you are lobbied or partied up into consideration. Yes, sometimes you still get matched up with people in parties (rarely ever full parties though), but have you ever played a game in a 3-6 man and gone against non-partied up opponents? It’s rare that it happens.

SBMM is not only based on “skill.” A much larger component is based on microtransactions, such that those who spend more get easier lobbies. Activision patented the system many years ago. You can look them up.

People have said that SBMM has existed for a long time, but to the extent that is present in MW/WZ and CW? Hell no. On BO3 I got Dark Matter fairly easily (I’m not a sniper or a knife person lol), but on CW I’m lucky to get a Bloodthirsty with the gun I’m using without the help of a War Machine😂

I got the game yesterday and played 3 pubs all of which are filled with people level 100 or in the fuckin 90’s and I’m using a dogshit no attachment xm4 getting dumpstered and railed, I didn’t even get an easy first match. The only other time I played was a few games during the beta, do you think the matchmaking is using stats from your activision account, so MW stats will affect ur matchmaking in CW because there’s no other way that first game on I’m playing lebron

I can almost guarantee that they've been doing exactly this for quite some time without anyone really considering this as a possibility within the COD community. Most youtubers or those in the COD community check on year to year SBMM on a per game basis, but you never really hear anyone consider that it might be carrying over from the previous titles. I've played on PC for years, thus for quite some time the community was smaller than on console, but regardless, year to year nearly immediately, I always encountered the same top 1% of players I played against in the previous title. I find it highly doubtful that within a match of two we were all ranked accordingly. Yet, there it was, is and always has been since Advanced Warfare released. The only time I noticed a difference was the release of Bops4 and I believe that's because of Activision moving platforms on PC, but even still, those who used the same email that was associated with their Steam account were once again put into the same ranking and played pool. As soon as MW was released, it was business as usual and the cycle continued. Perhaps it really is just that top 1% players stand out to the ranking system, but I just have a hard time believing that it would be so accurate in such a short time. I can only assume it would be occurring on console as well, no different, if not even easier for them to implement.

Or they are just pc players... you never see a tournament with pc and console players. It is one or the other. The amount of success you can have against console is ridiculous. Regardless if console aim assist is nuts. If you are a very very skilled competent player on PC you can easily beat the best of the best on console. That isn't bragging that is literally the truth. I have crossplay enabled and nearly every game it is full of PC players, no console (ps/xbox) players there, when I first started playing it was almost always console but SBMM levelled that one out. It depends what time of the day I'm playing. The search will expand of a night-time meaning I have a higher chance of engaging with console players due to the skill gap opening up a bit if I can't find a game.

Every MOBA, every MMO, every looter shooter, every sports game. People improve gradually and move to higher skill brackets, that’s how it works everywhere else and that’s how it works in COD now. It sucks how quick it happens too. I’m not that good overall since I’m new to PC, but sometimes I’ll spaz and go ham for a match or two on gunfight or whatever.. then immediately the next match I’m completely outplayed at every angle. It’s pretty annoying having maintained a 1.1-1.8 KD since Call of Duty 4 and now I struggle breaking .8 or so as an “average player.”

Last week first 4 games I had 45 to 16 kill games and even almost got a Nuke. This week I went 20 to 17 or 18 to 16. So yeah the lobbies weren't as easy as last weeks. The SBMM is definitely playing a major role. Luckily I didn't go negative in any of those games.

Honestly I've learned how to play against sweats. Just hold one area down and that's it, people do move on this game but it's a lot of head glitching and pre-aiming every route and corner. I just simply don't push because the game will shift my connection from time to time, one game I have a 40 ms ping and the next game it's 70 plus. That's why it be feeling like I'm getting no chance at a gun fight sometimes. I believe if they fix the ping between players the game will play better for a lot of folks. We need CBMM (connection based matchmaking). That will make it playing against sweats easier, since your bullets will register more and you'll be able to hold your ground.
