SCurl Redo | Updated Wet Look on My Shorter, Greyer Hair

Happy Sunday Guys! Today’s video is a redo of one of my old videos! Some time ago, using Luster's SCurl and Xtreme Gel was a trend, and I wanted to try it out. Well, I ran into a lot of issues, but the result was really good! I liked the way my hair turned out, but the process I used wasn’t the best. In this video, I did things differently. Some things worked great, but other things failed me. Let’s just get straight to the video to see what I did and how my hair responds this go round!

This came out really cute. I am a grey haired natural also and the front of my hair is so different from the back! I will give this a try. I have worn half up half down styles before, but I never thought to have the ponytail up so far forward. Thanks

The end result is fabulous. If you try those products again, try your hair sopping wet as you apply product to each section. That's how I got it to work for me. Now I only use castor oil on my hair with the extreme gel. It never fails me. For me water water water helps a lot. You look good lady!!!

Your end result is fabulous. You look beautiful. I find my dyed color hair have poppin curls but my gray hair doesn't. I did a clear demi with developer 10 on my gray and my grey hair became wavy and my twist outs turned out great.

I am SO crushing on the 'fro during the intro. It's something about the wildness of it all that got me. Perhaps using a mini denman brush will help the front of your hair clump better. I mentioned before that our hair is similar and I have the same problem in the front of my head where the hair is looser. You look ADORABLE with the half up half down, like a young girl trying the gray trend. That "feeling" is the glycerin in the product. I have to use old school Jheri curl products on my hair to get behavior out of it otherwise, gurrl.

I love your hair. You look gorgeous. I actually liked all the styles. I was just talking to a chemist about what I can do for this breaking gray hair around my edges. It just won't grow like the rest of the gray. I am trying not to color it, but I can't stand those short pieces around my edges. I am happy you mention the Evolvh.

@@jjMua She is going to develop something for the dryness and breakage. She is starting to have the same problem. Right now she is just keeping it hydrated and sealing it with a little butter. When she develops something, I will let you know. She has some wonderful products out that I use. Her Hibiscus line I use keeps my hair moisturized from wash day to wash day. I think because my hair on the edge keeps getting wet, and I do forget to re-moisturized, it could be a lot of my problem.

Your looks beautiful. My grey in the top front is just like yours. Maybe you should have used a smaller rod (gray) ones for a tighter curl like your back. Overall it turned out well.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Would have been great to have a smaller rod. I think I just need to practice doing this more. It’s a great go to when I don’t want to twist, rod set, or do a blowout.

I love the final look!! I haven't seen any of your videos in awhile because I've been soo busy but I really enjoyed watching this. I wanted to ask you if you notice that when you do a oil treatment prior to washing your hair do you happen to notice a difference in how the products take to your hair? You stated that there was a slight sticky feel or some residue that you could feel and I was curious if that was part of the issue. Your hair has grey very similar to how mine has greyed I actually cut it this past July and its starting to grow back with a vengeance but I've ben curious about the S-Curl product and how would work in my hair. 🥰🙂😉

Hey Tracy!!! So glad you were able to stop by and check on a sistah🤗… regarding the residue, it is the combination of the activator and gel. The activator also has glycerin in it which is the culprit! My hair has totally dried and has none of that residue,but when water hits it, that sticky residue returns. I’m thinking of using Carefree Curls activator next go round. From what I’m told, Carefree is far less sticky and leaves none of that residue….we’ll see😏For the record, I experienced the stickiness/greasy feel when I first attempted 2-3 years ago and I did not do a hot oil treatment prior to. 😘
