Yours is the only video I have seen that plays it exactly like SRV, all slides, no bends. Great job.
@has1234567 жыл бұрын
I think there are one subtle bend on first note of this solo. Or not?
@skeletalwreck7 жыл бұрын
If you watched it all, he did also go into alternative methods of playing it, including using bends instead of slides. However, I agree - I do think SRV uses the slides instead of bends in the main riff.
@davybones16 жыл бұрын
it is 2-3-2-0 not 3-2-0 in the main riff though at the end, you can see SRV slide his hand up the neck from 2-3 if you slow down his live shows, or you can just hear it in the song
@RobertLandrum136 жыл бұрын
Steve Raff The actual recording is bends. Live is slides.
@raywalters2434 жыл бұрын
Stevie played it both ways whatever he felt like I think the bend's sounds better alot more aggressive.

I just want to tell you that this lesson for Scuttle Buttin is the best video on KZbin! I like the fact that you play it slowly, and show the beat. This has finally taught me this amazing song! Now it’s my job to get from 89 BPM to 160 😃👍🏼

Great guitar lesson and player. The best Stevie I've seen someone imitate and I do not say that with ease . Stevie Ray Vaughn was a hell of a guitar player and when you watch this guy you have to admit he's got it .

Thanks heaps for a VERY informative lesson on this classic. I certainly had an idea of how to play this, but as I learned from you, it's all in how you feel the timing and phrasing, and, with a song as fast as this one, that's really hard to do. Your slowed down sections were VERY helpful in allowing me to "get it". I loved your exploration of following chordal movements with a solo, and the minor and major 3rd - intrinsic to the blues!!!

You're. A saint. I was trying to figure out how I was playing it wrong, I was originally alternate picking the open strings instead of downpicking after the first slide. I can play it now! I appreciate it man, keep up the good work :D

I spent ages painfully bending the the A up a full tone on the 3rd string and it's a slide after all - so much for my SRV book of transcriptions which cost me an arm and a leg many years ago.

Thanks for the video, it is very good. I'm a fan of the live slide method, myself. I've been playing for 30 years, and this is tough. It sounds so much different playing slow, that it is hard for me to get into the groove of it. Hearing it live for a long time before attempting this, that playing it is very different than I thought it would be. This video is very helpful though, I hope that I can get there. God Bless.

Thanks, that was a really great lesson, and you explain things really well. I've just started electric guitar after years of playing acoustic, and realise the touch, using the pick, hybrid picking are all new for me. So, was wondering, do you also have tutorials where you play licks 'slow' for beginners like me? I have a Strat copy and a small Marshall MG30CFX amp.
@Asagtr9 жыл бұрын
brobdj Hi and thanks. I think you'd be best to search my channel and see if you find anything to your liking. I wouldn't constrict myself to categories such as 'beginner', if you see something you like, just go for it. :)
