We are generally aiming for this tuning scheme: 4-3-2-1 F-Ab-Bb-D Sol-Te-Do-Mi Over time the pitches flatten, so maybe that's why you heard drums 1 and 2 down a half step?

We use a much lower tuning scheme to achieve a ton of resonance. We use C Eb F Ab, which matches very well with our opening statement at the college football games - the fanfare. It's a big fanfare with our fight song melody, based in F tuning. We mainly do a big double stroke roll on drum 2 so it perfectly locks in and sounds so beautiful haha
