I'd be interested to see comparison tests between sintered gears and machine cut gears (hardness tests, destructive running tests). For my VS4-10 Ultra, I bought the upgrade machined gear set for the VFD transmission, because the portal axles came with machined gears and I have a bit of OCD... All sintered or all machined, but a mix is annoying for some reason. Anyway, I hear a lot of negativity toward sintered gears and people spending money to upgrade, but is that money well spent? Sintered gears are VERY durable, literally ALL cordless power tools use them. Milwaukee, DeWalt, Porter Cable, Bosch, and even Hilti, and when these tools wear out, it's the bearings, motors, and electronics that generally fail, not the gears.
