@9:00 thats a dope technical climb. if i was climbing that in my full scale FJ i would approach like you did but i would place my front axels as high up the steep side. then lock my rear wheels and use only my front tires only to drag the rear wheels up just enough for grip. unlock the rear wheels turn them full rake to the left lock them then turn my front wheels to the right. in my mind i would be crawling up that slope sideways. lol great upload!

Heck yeah! That’s why I put dig and 4ws on my tube chassis scx24! It helps a TON!! Like you said you can drag the rear into position and then cut loose!

Best weights! Stick on lead weights used to balance full size car wheels. The thin ones are 7g per 1/2" x 3/4" piece. Stuck to the inside of a beadlock wheel ring. I had to trim the inside of my foams the thickness of the lead or the tires bulged. I have 4 inside each wheel adding an oz to each corner of the lowest place possible. Probably could have put them tighter end to end and fit 5 or 5 1/2 pieces. To lazy to break it down and try.

Great job, great minds think alike. I also tried .04 size brass solid tube i cut like 10 pieces per lnk crzy glued them around link like an exoskeleton then tiny bits of solder to hold it all together without melting....... the i also tried cutting in half hollow tubing and wrapping it sealed it with solder 800 deg quick dab, today i will cut end replace with .12 solid brass tube and to join ends ill use a hollow piece and a coax crimpper. . thnks for the idea

Ukmudlover yeah I just wanna build more and more lol. These things are too much fun! The grout works great. I just wet the surface and sprinkle it on, then wet again and repeat once it dries. That way it’s not actually mixed. It gets pretty heavy when you mix it and I wanted to keep the weight down on this setup in case I need to move it.

@chevymanbilly56984 жыл бұрын
Is ur course made out of spray foam ?
@2fmrc4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. I stacked some boxes,then spray foamed it all together to fill gaps and cover everything. Then I would spray paint lightly and sprinkle the grout onto it that way it would sort of stick to the paint. It’s a quick plug type grout. Dries very quickly. I didn’t wanna fully mix it with water as it gets very heavy and I was trying to keep the course as light as possible. Then I just kept sprinkling light grout and misting it with water to make it set up a bit. Did it over and over and then touched up with spray paint again. Finally I did a coat of clear flex seal spray over all of that to help hold it all on. It’s held up great so far! I actually have a video on my channel of building the 1st section of the course if you wanna see how I did it.

I know this is video is months old, But Why did you NOT use Solid Bras rod for the weight benefits of solid rod.
@2fmrc4 жыл бұрын
Cause it’s what I had. I’ve since bought solid brass rod and actually even made a video on how to make links with it 😉
@2fmrc4 жыл бұрын
Now that people are 3D printing the high clearance links it’s almost pointless to even use the brass. The weight isn’t enough to make that much of a difference really and the plastic slides better.
@williammcclain22754 жыл бұрын
Put firm springs on the rear & medium rate on the front , and that will get rid of the torque roll , thus causing it to climb way better , try it . sweet track & lower the body . Peace !

Oh yeah this truck is totally different now. Much better than in this vid. It still has some extra weight up high just because of the body I went with but overall it’s a monster now.

@John Lujan they are ok. Not a ton better than stock but at least they have some adjustment and look great! Depends what your wanting from new shocks. If you want a ton more articulation then I wouldn’t get them. If just looking for a slight improvement over stock with some bling then they are great.

@John Lujan absolutely! You’re gonna love the 1/24! I’ve had a couple 4x4 stampedes and slashes. Still have 2 slashes lol. I never run any of them as much as I do my 1/24s. Just so easy to take them anywhere and enjoy anywhere!

@@2fmrc do all the trucks come with or just the deadbolt, im so indecisive on which one i want to buy (first lol)
@2fmrc4 жыл бұрын
talin angel yeah they all come with a couple extra links and driveshaft pieces. It’s a tough decision on which to buy. I have 2 deadbolts, a C10 with another on the way and a Jeep lol. You’ll end up with more. What type of crawling do you wanna do? The Jeep and C10 are a little more scale looking and crawling. They have body rub etc. The deadbolt is a little more capable right away in my opinion but with a couple small mods the others do just as well and look a little better imo. You can pretty much make whatever you want out of any of them. They are all so customizable it’s insane and a ton of fun to mess with honestly. I do something to mine daily lol
@angeltalin14 жыл бұрын
@@2fmrc I'm overall wanting to do some crawling nothing real crazy, but I want to get an old TJ body printed and mounted. Might go with the jeep to start! I'll sub and keep watching !
@2fmrc4 жыл бұрын
talin angel I appreciate it! Honestly my Jeep may be my most capable rig. Watch my vid on my Jeep setup. Not a ton of money in it and every bit as capable as any of them. It actually climbs straight up hills better than my 4ws rig. It’s insane how good it is! The 4ws can work itself through pretty much anything when using the rear steer but it’s almost like cheating. Without the rear steer the Jeep would probably outcrawl it and I have around $7-800 in that rig all together 🤦🏻♂️

I put the control rods on the opposite. I turned the servo upside down. With this arrangement, the rubber rings should not fall out, otherwise they may slip because the metal part holding them is smaller on one side and larger on the other, it is worth paying attention to it. it is the same as with HR Shock Absorbers you have to put on the right side.
