Would you be interested in a custom Desmune? It will get rid of the black dots and all the jaggies, it allows you to increase the ds internal resolution and make it so that the top and bottom screen are movable so they don't have to be attached, you can put them anywhere on the screen you want and you can resize them individually. There's a bunch of other options and tweaks as well, it basically makes the games look better than on the real thing and you can make the screens larger without it looking like crud.
