Surf would have done more than because Bite does 60 x 2 ( If Super effective) = 120 Surf does 95 x 1.5 (Same type attack bonus) = 142.5. This game doesn't have the physical special split, so water and dark are both special attacks.

Scykoh, Surf would have done more damage to Alakazam than Bite. Bite has 60 Base Power, times 2 for Super Effectiveness makes it 120 Surf has 95 Base Power, times 1.5 Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) makes it 142.5 So Surf might have actually knocked it out in two turns, because it might not have trigger the Full Restores ;)

It takes significantly longer and is easily more grueling overall, but the most productive solution to a No-Center challenge is to simply optimize a team filled with exclusively "tank"-like Pokemon, applying a few heal items (especially "Leftovers"), and then strictly spending the majority of every battle simply swapping back and forth between whichever two Pokemon you have with the best defensive capabilities until your opponent runs out of PP first. Forcing each opponent into literally killing themselves via "Struggle" enables you to get through the entire game without ever having to heal nor use even just *ONE* TM nor ever use any Ethers either. Under most circumstances, once your opponent begins to use "Struggle", having an item like "Leftovers" literally allows you to win even by simply using "Splash" repeatedly as your opponents.constantly slowly kill themselves! The most entertaining aspect of it being the "psychology" behind what your opponent is likely thinking while you literally toy with them. Even without doing a "No-Center" challenge, the strategy mentioned above is a "standard" approach for me (because I enjoy sadistically toying with my food). So here's an example... = Bruno: "Go Steelix!" (L70) Me: "Go Forretres!" (L80 + Leftovers) Steelix uses "Rock-Slide"! Forretres uses "Protect", followed by "Substitute", followed by "Protect" again, followed by "Spikes", followed by "Protect" again, followed by "Spikes" again, etc... ...Eventually... Steelix has run out of "Rock-Slide", so Steelix uses "Earthquake"! Forretres has finished setting up "Spikes" and is still high in HP due to "Protect" + "Substitute" + "Leftovers", so to avoid pointlessly wasting PP of my own, I begin using the "Pokeflute" repeatedly (which can waste a turn even without any Pokemon being asleep on the field). :-P ...Eventually... Steelix has run out of "Earthquake", so Steelix uses "Crunch"! Forretres continues to stall (primarily via Pokeflute)... ...Eventually... Steelix has run out of "Crunch", so Steelix uses "Iron-Tail"! Forretres continues to stall (still primarily via Pokeflute)... ...Eventually... Steelix has run out of all moves, so Steelix uses "Struggle"! Me: "Withdraw Forretres; Go Metapod!" (L50 + Leftovers) Metapod uses "Harden" repeatedly... By the 4th "Harden", Steelix is already doing less damage with "Struggle" to Metapod than Metapod recovers via "Leftovers". After the 6th "Harden", stall with "String-Shot" (40PP), or stall with the Pokeflute if you don't want to waste PP... ...Eventually... Me: "What's the matter Bruno? *Struggling* to beat my Metapod?" 😏 Steelix "Struggles" itself to death! Metapod maintains full Health... ...Next... Bruno: "Go Hitmonchan!" (L70) Metapod uses "Tackle" repeatedly... Hitmonchan uses "Counter", retaliates equal damage to Metapods recovery via "Leftovers"! ...Next... Hitmonchan faints to Metapod's "Tackle"! Bruno: "Go Hitmonlee!" (L70) Hitmonlee uses "Mega-Kick" (5PP), "Hi-Jump-Kick" (5PP), and "Earthquake" (10PP)! Metapod stalls with more "Harden" and "String-Shot" (or simply Pokeflute). ...Eventually... That mirror match with Alakazam was epic! I think I'll actually do a No Pokemon Center Challenge myself. I'm going to restrict myself even further though, and do Battle Set mode (you can't switch to counter the next Pokemon the enemy sends out) and not allow myself to heal in-battle. Those last restrictions are just passive ones that I apply to myself anyway, but adding this challenge to them would really stretch my abilities. I think it'll be fun!

Baby Jesus Unown have secret power, which is a move depending on your enviroment. In buildings, that move is Strength, with paralysis as a secondary effect. This can be useful if used correctly. Delibird has Present, which is pretty bad. However, while its move pool is small, it has strong Physical, special, and status moves, such as Blizzard, Toxic, and Aerial Ace.

I was playing some 1v1 on pokemon showdown and I had a mega venusaur vs poliwrath, I tried to put him to sleep with sleep powder, missed, he crits me with ice punch. turn 2 I go for sleep again, miss and get critted again. turn 3 I miss again, he hits me. I'm almost dead, I sleep him, FINALLY HIT!!! he is asleep. turn 4: I giga drain, almost kill then he ice punches, crits me and freezes. turn 5: I'm frozen solid and he ice punches me and I die.

Being unable to overwrite HM moves is so outdated. It made sense in Gen 1 and only in Gen 1, because Gen 1 was the only time in Pokemon when you had a single bag pouch that everything shared and an item limit. You could deposit your HMs after using them to free up bag space, and then if you overwrote an HM move in the wrong place, you could screw yourself over. So they made it so you can't overwrite HMs. Makes sense. Generation 2, back in 2000, gave you a TM/HM pouch in your bag so you always had all your TMs and HMs with you at all times. And the only time that changed was in Fire Red/Leaf Green, where they replaced the TM/HM part of the bag with a TM Case Key Item that you also always had with you at all times, so despite the change you still always had your HMs with you. And yet, with Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the latest releases, they *STILL* won't let you get rid of HM moves unless you find the single Move Deleter NPC in the game and talk to him. Why? What are they afraid of? I have my HMs with me at all times. If I accidentally delete an HM Move I needed, I can just go in the bag and use the HM again to get the move back. There's absolutely no reason whatsoever to not be able to overwrite HM moves, and there hasn't been for 16 years. Granted, I wish the entire idea of HM Moves would be overhauled entirely. I wish if you had the badge that enabled the move for use in field, you could use the move in field as long as you have a Pokemon that can learn the move for battle without wasting a move slot on it. The idea that I have to teach a bird to fly or a fish to swim or a Pokemon with blades for arms like Scyther and Kabutops how to slice a small tree down by placing a CD on their forehead is just stupid, and plus it'd be nice to not have to have HM slaves for the HM Moves that are useless in battle anymore. But if they don't change that, I hope they at least change it so HM Moves can be overwritten wherever and whenever you want.

My brother found this cool glitch in pokemon yellow. If a pokemon uses self destruct/explosion on you and you level up from its death, and you dont take the damage.
