Thank you! I grew up with Nolan North as my Deadpool, Starting with Hulk VS Wolverine in 2009 and his video game was fucking beautiful. Genuinely better than the first Deadpool movie. It took me a long time to get used to Ryan Reynolds Deadpool and I like him now but Nolan North is always going to be the more comic book accurate of the two to me. I have been fighting people in the comments over this!

I can say I prefer comic accurate and mean how he was originally introduced and intended to be, which is not the mouthy, fourth wall breaking satire machine that he is in the comics later. That version didn’t really take shape until the late 90’s. Neither North nor Reynolds have really gone the route of adapting what the character started as, both draw from the same well of that late 90’s era, pulling from his ongoing title at the time. So at the end of the day, it’s really just interpretation of the same material. Obviously, one is a VA and one is a live-action actor, so the material and how it functions will be different simply by nature it being animation vs film. A lot of people fall in love with VA’s and consider their portrayal accurate, like Kevin Conroy as Bat-Man, but it’s just a different medium that can be hard to compare.

A lot of people thought that Kevin Conroy serious interpretation of Batman was weird at first because they were used to the goofiness of Adam West and Michael Keaton. But what I mean is that Nolan is doing what best represents the 90s Deadpool we're all familiar with. If you watch detective Pikachu or fall guys or some of Ryan Reynolds other projects you see very quickly that he is a lot like Morgan Freeman or Chris Pratt he just plays himself in every movie. He acts the same way and tells the same jokes whether he's playing Deadpool or not he just may use more curse words if the movie is rated r. I love Deadpool 2 and 3 because they were far more comic book accurate renditions of the character and brought in a lot of things from the 90s and early 2000s era of Deadpool as well as throwbacks to older Fox properties in general. Nolan North is an extremely talented voice actor and Deadpool is only one of his many repertoires. Ryan Reynolds feels a lot more like a one-trick pony whereas Nolan North is genuinely a jack of all trades that has portrayed many roles greatly with different voices. Ryan Reynolds version of the character has also never acknowledged the voices in his head which Nolan North constantly acknowledges and also gives voices too. To me 90s era Deadpool is the real Deadpool because early Deadpool was just a shameless rip off of Deathstroke because they needed a wolverine villain and they were rushing for time. Ironically that was the same way that Wolverine was made for Hulk. I feel like when most people say comic book accurate they have a specific version of the character in mind they don't just mean generally. At least that's what I mean.

You've pretty much stated my exact feelings on Way and Deadpool. As for getting caught up in larger MU stories, he had a small but pivotal role in the conclusion of Secret Invasion, among others. I'd like to see more of this kind of thing, only with larger roles played. Or even more of his own big-picture type stuff (saving the free will of the human race by kicking Captain America in the nuts comes to mind). It kind of was, considering the repetitive gameplay and lack of content, the whole thing was just this: Step 1- Buy guns Step 2- shoot things Step 3- End story mode Step 4- ...Repeat if you want but it's literally just the same thing
