It will be an easy, cheap fix though. A wooden base doesn't cost much in retail.

I asked Weta and they said the character will be glued to the base. So some hot water to make it melt and voilà, you can put it on the base of your choice.

Any news about the flames on the sword specifically. Can and will they be removable? They kill the entire statue, and look fake as hell. Also the

Could you tell me if "magic and flame effects" are removable from the figure and/or base?

I asked Weta, about the flames and also about our ability to change the base. This is their answer: "All of the statues will come glued to the base, it will be removable but it isn't designed to be, so just make sure you exercise caution when trying to remove it. I have just discussed with the production manager about the flames on the sword - we're weighing up the option of making the flames on the sword attach more like a sheath so it's possible to remove it. This decision hasn't been finalized as of yet though so the final production model may come with the flames glued in place (Still possibly removable if you can deal with the glue)" Fingers crossed!

These statues are really cool, but the statue of Gandalf is doing far more to defend himself than the film version. That scene was such a letdown.

Everything looks great except for the face sculpt. That doesnt look like Ian McKellen at all. Even the mini epics version looks better.

I would've like the With-King's head to be black, not empty. Beautiful though!

Why though? The character is literally invisible, so his armour is supposed to look empty.

@@SheThatHathFallen Firstly, have you seen the films? This is supposed to be a reproduction of the character as seen on Peter Jackson's adaptations. In said films you couldn't see the back of his helmet through his face. It was in fact black inside. Now, if you're referring to the Witch-king as described by Tolkien, he wasn't transparent either, described as "a shape, black-mantled...between rim and robe naught was there to see, save only a deadly gleam of eyes." So actually on both counts the figurine would be incorrectly reproduced!
