I know it's been a few years now, but I just want to say thank you for making these videos. These are still helpful today, and giving me an idea of what to expect once I finalize my application, and get everything squared away to start. I appreciate the time you took to make these, and show us all the goodies SDI sends those that sign up for these classes.

Too many people don't do this. Great idea to keep it all in the same place. Still struggling on how to organize. Changes my ways many times. Nothing perfect yet. Carry on sir.

That box is actually really sweet. I have been looking for one like that for ages. Either they are all rotted out and not worth having or someone wants their weight in gold for it. All I seem to find these days are the standard flip top lid box.

This was a while back but they still might have them on ebay.

What do you use the carving tools for?

Those were some carving tools I already had and just decided to add them in :)

Good video, with a nice old toolbox Artisan Tony. Remember the Rust Reformer used on the bare iron bracket at the Stringer Ridge home? Maybe, the Rust Reformer could be used on the ~inside of the toolbox. It would help keep the tools clean. .... The rust on the outside adds character. The value in the toolbox (for The Smithsonian) would be the provenance, that the toolbox once belonged to Artisan Tony. ....... And, excellent guitar music for organizing a toolbox, Barret. The music is the 'creme de la creme' of the video.

+john smith I agree :) Sometimes I get lost in the music and forget what I was talking about :)

I don't think I would paint it either. Maybe just re-felt that bottom drawer. BTW: the door that covers the lower drawers should slide into the slot under the drawers for storage. (My father has had a nearly identical toolbox as long as I can remember.)

Great box tony. I wouldn't paint it but maybe just clean up the outside with a little elbow grease and lube.

If I were you I would clean some of the rust off with a scotch brite pad or sandpaper and and use some WD-40 in the drawers so that they don't squeak as much. You could spray a clear protective finish on the visible areas of the tool box if you don't want to repaint it. It might be drier where you live but where I live things tend to rust very quickly and look pretty nasty after a while.

Please don't pant that tool box. It has so much character. Also see if the front cover hides under the bottom draw, looks like a place for it there, as I had a tool box similar to this one, but it was made of wood. In the slot under the bottom draw, there appears to be some thing there, maybe my imagination and I am a curious person. Hahaha. Thanks for the sharing.
