I like how they go over the whole thing about leaving out information in the Monocrow file, but (v3 spoilers ahead) Kirumi goes to all the work of literally having Ryoma’s flesh eaten by piranhas and having him reduced to bones and the file just straight up says the cause of death is drowning

Thanks for translating this! Also the X on Emma's death portrait looks all torn up (8:40), I'm not sure if this is what it's meant to resemble but maybe it's a reference to her death? (I think she got all torn up at the end of her execution so the X may resemble her limbs? Which is pretty dark tbh). Setsuka's portrait looks like it's related to her talent, (from what I can see at 20:35, it looks like 2 Billiard sticks and a ball, maybe 4 of them?)

For the Emma one it may be a stretch but since she’s all about acting, specifically films. Maybe it represents a cut like an actor being cut from a particular role in a film because you don’t meet the directors exact vision for the role.

Yeah, I was a little surprised she wasn’t used as a backup if the Iroha plan failed. Once it became obvious she was the one who drank the coffee instead, idk why the killer didn’t play it to their advantage. Also, the username Sora investigates the haunted house to begin with vs the one she entered with for the body discovery is completely different, and it totally threw me off during the investigation. I was so convinced her handbook had been stolen and swapped. And the parade thing could be explained with the accomplice explanation

19:59 I like how you can sometimes spot things with Mikado's magic that references Himiko's magic, like how they both use the term "MP" to refer to how much magic they have stored at the moment. (Himiko FTE spoilers) Seeing these similarities makes me think Himiko might be honest about having magic and by extension, to get more into headcanon territory, that Mikado was the anti-mage who ruined her master's final performance. I doubt it's canon (for SDRA2), but I think it'd be interesting.

It might not be “canon” as such, but given the way V3 I’d meant to be, like, the ultimate fan game, SDRA2 is probably VERY popular in that universe and most likely would have set a base for the fifty irl killing games. I wouldn’t be surprised if the way her magic worked was directly inspired by Mikado (in universe), or that he was made to be part of her backstory as an “Easter egg” to the audience should she mention it

I just know it's Kanade. I never really liked her. She's acting suspicious as well and ever since she said she liked Corpse Party, I knew she was gonna end up killing someone. I've never watched it because I'm scared of seeing animated gore happen, but I sure as hell know there's probably some satanic shit in that game, I mean, look at what happened to Setsuka. Kanade would be the only one to know how to pull this type of shit off, plus, she likes to read murder novels and such, which is even more of a red flag

**V3 and Trigger Happy Havoc spoilers, I'm whatching this by the first time without knowing the end so please do not reply with spoilers** My theory is that the culprit drowned Setsuka and then sliced her body to hide the cause of death. Also the culprit moved the body to hide the actual murder scene and the actual time gasp to create an alibi (Like Kirumi did, hiding where he was drowned, so everyone thought that was before nightime while she was talking to Kokichi) and also manipulated Hibiki (because Iroha saw her a few minutes before the parade) like Celeste did to Hifumi. Also that would mean that the pool doesn't have maintenence, it was so nobody enters the pool. The culprit easy send the messages using Setsuka's finger to activate her handbook.

I'm really glad you edited the truth bullets, it makes it a bit easier. :) I will have to disagree with Kanade that the culprit and Setsuka entered the Ghost House. I personally believe Setsuka died some time before then and the time of death they've derived is a trap. The culprit could have simply hid behind the folding screen there and waited until the body discovery announcement. Then the gates would deactivate, there would be no OUT record, and thus created 'Setsuka's time of death'. I don't know about the WN2LB7 though. It might also be part of the trap, but if that's true then I have no idea who could have entered the Ghost House. It's definitely not Hibiki though. Iroha was Hibiki enter and only her, so I think she only saw the second person enter. Hm... it COULD be Syobai, who has 'experience' in these sorts of things... If not, then they must have used a trick.

Hibiki is suspicious and all, but I'm rather concerned about Iroha. Her meeting with Setsuka is suspicious of course, but also the fact Sora fainted and slept all day after drinking Iroha's drink? That can't just be a coincidence. I would come up with a theory where it's Iroha, but I have no idea how she would've left the ghost house without registering an OUT record, so maybe not? Or perhaps she was the intended victim, but when the killer ran into Setsuka (on her way to meet Iroha) they decided to kill her instead?

tbh even though all signs are pointing to Kanade atm (she's being waaaaaay too helpful and the game's drawing way too much attention to it for my liking), I'm gonna say it's a double-bluff and that what she ACTUALLY did was manipulate the situation so that Hibiki would become the blackened, so that her sister who otherwise would never commit a murder and get away with it could escape the island. I'd imagine she also deliberately arranged for the victim to be the person Hibiki was closest to in order to: A) Eliminate the one person who would stand to be the biggest threat to her plan and B) Cause Hibiki to be too distraught to be any kind of use during the trial My guess is that the next part of the trial is going to involve Hibiki being pointed to as the culprit, only for some evidence or alibi to come up that will "exonerate" her that'll end up being proven irrelevant later (similar to Trial 3 in SDR2).

i think the whole point of danganronpa fangames are that theyre supposed to be the same as danganronpa, but the cases and characters are different. imo i think its better this way so if you just mixed the fangames with the original danganronpa games you wouldnt be able to tell which one is which, which is good because technically all fangames are canon. sure, seeing some difference here and there is good, but if the creator wants it to be more similar to danganronpa then this is a good route to take :) wait you commented this a year ago thats a long time
