That is some great news. I was forced to install Windows to run SDRUno as I found SDRConnect a bit frugal. As a software developer I know how much work you have to put down to develop an app like SDRConnect from scratch, so I want to say thank you for making this availble on all the important platforms. These recent updates sure have made it much closer to a mature product, so give yourselves a pat on the back dev team, because you sure deserve it 👌

Great Job! A good frequency module, like this, is almost one of the main features I want in any SDR software. The new frequency manager made me able to import all the markers I had in SDRUno. Now, my SDRPlay Duo is working with the SDRconnect and my favourites frequency lists in my Debian GNU/Linux Laptop.
@phungyi49477 ай бұрын
I'm curious, do you find that SDRConnect runs with a high CPU usage on your Debian laptop?
@jmenriquem7 ай бұрын
Yes, of course, if I run the top command, the SDRconnect process takes about 65% of CPU usage on my Intel I7 (7th Gen) with 16GB of SDRAM. Other software, natively compilled, like SDR++, takes about 40%. SDRangel is even worse, It takes about 130% of CPU usage (of course, this percent is due to multi thread proceses). So that, I think SDRconnect is not very expensive in terms of CPU usage, and It is almost on the same line as other alternatives on Linux systems.
@phungyi49477 ай бұрын
@@jmenriquem Damn.. Thanks for your reply. On my old Core2Duo system (~ 2006) SDRConnect runs at 90+% CPU but CubicSDR runs at a less crippling usable 50 to 60% usage. Sample B/W set to 2MHz. Guess I'll be sticking with CubicSDR on my Debian system.

Hummm - I was wondering why this new video about SDRconnect. I have been using SDRconnect on my Intel Mac for a couple weeks and compared it to this new video --- was puzzled why my SDRconnect was not displaying the Frequencies List at the bottom of the screen. After a few minutes of thinking on this, it dawned on me that maybe this new video was indicating that a NEW update of SDRconnect was now available. So, I downloaded SDRconnect again and see that the new Frequencies List is now at the bottom. I just happened across this update, as I had not seen any kind of notice that a new Update was available. There should be a Check for Update function in the SDRconnect header menu.

Docking a floated window is a little tricky to work out at first. It should be documented clearly that you "click + drag" on the floating windows title or anywhere along that strip to bring up the docking tool. Fantastic update and really great video introduction once again. One request... it would be really useful to have a current version number on the downloads page and for the app info itself to help with bug tracking and updates.

Docking is so fiddly. Not only has the floating window title, or the thin bar running adjacent to it, need to be under the pointer to bring up the docking tool but the pointer must also be precisely over the docking tool area indicating where you want to dock the window. While on the subject, the frequency storage window must surely be a candidate for floating/docking. Having it tucked away at the bottom is a tad awkward for frequency access, especially if the list is quite long. I love the fact that SDR Connect does open a lot of support for RPi/Linux and cross platform server support is looking good. However, preview 3 is still consderably lacking compared to SDR Uno so, for the time being, I will continue to use SDR Uno on my Windows PC.

Very nice new features I must say. One suggestion from my side. When you open de lock in the Frequency module, it would be nice if I was able to drag de lists at the bottom to the desired place to sort them.

This is great - was waiting for a MacOS S/W solution. In the latest SDRConnect MacOS version - is there a way to PAN the waterfall/spectrum display, using the mouse device to grab and pan, ie. as would be done when tuning up/down the band - and as most SDR S/W implements? Using the Zoom buttons are cumbersome, and a keyboard-shortcut/pointer control would be very usable and speed up the process of tuning to a signal.
