Nice work. The hand sanding works but I've enjoyed using my Dremel with a 1" Velcro disc using diamond grit paper from 50 grit to 10000. Learning is the fun part Stay cool 😅

What a wonderful cab you’ve made. This is absolutely stunning, I love the cab. There’s so many ideas in my head, as to what I could do with it. Thank you Nate, for sharing this process. X❤

plume ! I always forget that term, I think its one of the best adjectives for those fine shapes, thank you : )

That's a nice piece you just demonstrated with your Lapping discs and buffers . I tumble and I have made some jewelry but I want to get into the shaping of these agates. that are not easy to find here in Upstate New York so I may have to buy some and then get one of those disc lapping machines that you have something like it but here it's a nice winter project to do this stuff when it's pouring snow outside

wheels I think are easier to work with than flat disks, but i'm using what I have and have been given and learning how to get there one way or the other.
@symonrocks9847Ай бұрын
You got a bargain there nate, I prefer the wheels rather than the disc unless I'm faceting obviously, got loads of wheels just nothing worth grinding really, mostly plain stuff but the good bits I do have I keep looking at but don't have the heart for cutting into cabs, if you want some assorted jasper slabs let me know, mookeite, african sunset , brown, red, etc. Nice job on that cab, soak that loose mop in slurry and make some lumps of slurry you can let harden , slightly slower polisher will hold the damp and give you a nice finish, thin super glue fills in the flaws and jewelers rouge red wax Polish on a stitched cotton mop wheel, do not let it get hot though, keep dipping in water, once your mop is loaded with wax you really only need a touch of the wheel every so often, try that method it worked for me, only after I realised the heat generated will break your cab. Is it really so hot outside, I think I would be like an icepop, slowly melting even when not in the sun. Keep at it, I still enjoy all of your videos.

Hiya Nathan, it takes time to learn how to make cabs, while you are working on it, dry the stone and look for groves and scratches before you go to the next step. And we call it double sided. Practice practice practice, and you will get it perfectly. I hope you have a awesome blessed day. Cya! 😺🐟 out!

Is that crystal in the small cavity , kind of looked like silver which would be great but mercury would be bad against skin.
@QuestForDetailsАй бұрын
a very small crystal pocket yes, look to be clear not red but good lookin out for sure. I think it picked up the grey from the grit, it wasn't there before, needs a better clean out. but im going to re sand a bit more first : )
@josephcase3105Ай бұрын
It's looking like their is a grit inconsistency with the vendor disks...the scratches look to be at around 400 ...maybe 600.
@QuestForDetailsАй бұрын
cant remember the brand, just harbor freight deal, but most likely just me not getting each stage done all the way, I got too excited and pushed the stages so I could see if the whole process would work, now I feel more confident and can just really focus next time.
