As much as this all makes sense, one of my best climbing experiences was abbing in to a tidal sea cliff and pulling the rope then realising we were on a different bit of cliff and had taken a photo on our phones of the wrong page of the guidebook. Ended up climbing a 2 star route that felt like a 5 star experience 😂

I've forgotten what the exact phrase is, but it's something to the effect of "good decisions are made through experience, but experience is gained through bad decisions". Suffice to say your experience sounds quite memorable!!
