I've been paddling multiple Sea Eagle boats for several years now and the Explorer is my favorite! Good luck with it.

Straps are to hold the floor in place, but likely can be used to fabricate a foot support with maybe a piece of pvc?? just a thought. How can you tell which end is bow/stern? Seems tough from just a video glance. I watched another video where the stern seat was on the opposite end from yours adding to my confusion. I could tell by where he connected the seats to the D-rings. Thought you might be able to tell me before my boat comes in 2 days!

Basically the two ends are the same, so the deciding factor is the location of the D rings, which pretty much determines which seat is aft and which is forward. Good idea for the foot brace.

@@jackrabbit5047 Thanks! Still enjoying the kayak? Any new feedback to offer on her?

@@C3Voyage Oh, yes, very much. I highly recommend getting the electric pump - makes inflating a dream. Stock paddles aren't the best, so I use my regular Bending Branches sea kayak paddle.

When I was a kid I go for big box as well lol. Nice looking kayak, the high pressure floor can let you stand on it with no problem. I really wanted this one before but just didn't fit my budget so I bought a similar look cheaper Hydroforce.

Looked it up - that Ventura X2 looks like a good one!

When I had my Fantasia 35 I was sailing right past your area, in the Adolphus reach returning to Gananoque from the Bay of Quinte. The wind direction was just such that as I passed through the Islands I hit an area of huge fetch from the SW. I had my Walker Bay 8 in my stern Davits. It was rough enough through there that I was pooped several times (and the Fantasia had a huge amount of freeboard). The Walker Bay filled with water in the davits and the lines, halyards? Whatever they are called holding it in the davits snapped. Any way, there I am single handing with N and the baby napping below trying to get a tow line on a swamped Walker Bay. Any way, think I went onto either Bath or Collins Bay with my jury rigged Walker Bay tow. Brutal. Any way something like your Sea Eagle would have prevented the whole debacle.

It sure can get rough out there - been chastised a few times even in front of Kingston towing the Shellback, fretting for my pretty girl as she seemed to get swallowed by the waves. Fantasia 35 is a gorgeous boat!

@@jackrabbit5047 She was a pretty boat, especially inside. If you look her up, on Sailboat data the image was my boat, out in Humber Bay (Toronto).

I have the same model but it did not come with those gear bags. Also I have to inflate it with the foot pump.
@jackrabbit50473 жыл бұрын
Mine came with the foot pump but I splurged and got the electric pump to make my life easier when I inflate the kayak on the constrained decks of my sailboat, where pumping by foot can get a little awkward. My buddy uses a foot pump on his, and he is almost as fast as I am with my electric pump. Its all good exercise!

@@jackrabbit5047 Yes it is :-) I wonder why I did not get those bags. Did you buy them separately?
@jackrabbit50473 жыл бұрын
@@antonboludo8886 The bags came with it. They are very nice quality and well worth having for storing bits and bobs. Mine is the Pro Carbon kit. According to their website the Deluxe package does not come with the bags, but they can be purchased separately.

@@jackrabbit5047 I got my boat in 2012. I guess those bags did not come with it at that time.

@@jackrabbit5047 I have just overviewed my 420X. As it turns out, those bags actually were included. I had forgotten. Silly me. Throw me overboard now! 3 friends and I will be going on a camping trip during the Victoria Day Weekend on "Lac des Trois Montagnes" in Quebec using this boat. All the best for you.
