This 16 foot inflatable by Sea Eagle is powered by a Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 electric motor and lithium Power 26-104 battery. The stick steer, stealthy silent motor, shallow draft, quick deploy anchor system, oars, and custom rock guard make it an ideal river running boat.

Nice video! Sweet set up! Was curious if you could go a little more in depth how you set up your battery box with the steer stick and anchor system.

I’d love some more info on how you set up your depth finder! Probably going to pick one of these up and was specifically wondering about mounting a depth finder.

I really wish Torqeedo would come out with a tiller version of the 403C. The only drawback to the 403 is the singular throttle control option. It works fine for point A to B travel, but for start/stop trolling the foot control or tiller controls are superior.

Could you do a video on how you installed the boondox landing gear on an inflatable? Very nice setup.

S. Stallone Sea Eagle provides a wooden transom for this inflatable and others. I just drilled holes and installed it on that.

So it's basically an inflatable attempt at a mini-bass boat, or jon boat

Not into fishing but I’d like to explore the sounds and rivers around the coast of North Carolina. I moved here 25 years ago but never got around to getting a boat. I could fit this in my car and get phenomenal gas mileage in both. Is it a pretty good general purpose small boat? I could get a traditional small skiff but then I need a trailer and I also need a bigger car to tow it. Would it handle the waves OK?

I have the same kayak and currently using a 2.3hp which is too low. What do you think at putting a 25hp (150 lbs) outboard on the transform?

What are your thoughts on this skiff ability for near shore fishing. Id like to get away from bank fishing some. And trying to find an affordable inflatable that's capable on calm days.

Well done! Interesting rig. Like that you can still kick-up. Would like to see how it handles through rough, shallow say Mckees? Seems like a nice platform. As it is set up can you still seat 2? Motor/battery pretty heavy. I'd be using a trailer :-) Battery/motor combo nice. Pretty heavy, but not horrible.
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
Ray Benash I might stick it on my kayak trailer to see how it does. It would be easier to float it on and off a trailer. I’m curious to take it out in low clear conditions. It runs shallow!

Very interested in that experiment (low, clear) and see how easily the heavier motor kicks up. Going to look at the differences in the lower unit on this model vs travel and 403. Has me thinking about something custom :-)
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
Ray Benash This would not be a good option for a kayak. Something else is in the works though- with more power than the Ultralight 403.
@raybenash8347
@raybenash8347 5 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah - got you on that regarding kayak use. I see this inflatable platform as a separate set/solution - I like it for that. That's why I was asking if your current prototype if you will excludes the optional use of two seats? Regarding kayak comment - I was thinking along the same lines in terms of higher capacity/output motor/battery set up with same physical/weight characteristics as the 403. I'd really like to see a higher output motor (bottom end) along with same form factor 403 battery build from higher mAH cells for that. That's another discussion. I have seen the hints that something is coming for the UL line thanks to you :-) So kind of holding back on next kayak platform until I see what's up from Torqeedo, Wildy Fishing, and the 3rd party innovators.

Ray Benash I do put a second seat in there when I take my niece fishing. She was ultimately the reason I put this together. As far as the “higher power” option for the Ultralight, I’m working on it.

How do you find the Boonedox landing system? I currently own the a Fishskiff myself and bought the whee cart assembly from Sea Eagle which basically consists of 2 wheels attached to a long piece of aluminum, which has already bent, so I am looking for a different option for landing- transport. How do the Boonedox brackets mount to the transom, and does the transom being angled when installed effect the angle of the wheels in transport?
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
ttrcoatings1 Because I overloaded this boat with the 53 lb lithium battery and much more, the beach wheels started to rub on the hull. It would be a good solution if the Travel motor, but with the Cruise and battery, it has become a trailered boat.
@ttrcoatings1
@ttrcoatings1 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I use my boat with a 5hp outboard, so I think I would be running into the same problems you have encountered with wheels rubbing the hull. Thanks for your response, it has helped me out a lot!

Nice! That setup looks like it would shed the wind pretty well. Outside of a surf launch is there any type of water you would be reluctant to put that craft on?
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
Dave Thompson It could flip in class 3. It’s not the cataraft. If it flipped, ugh. That would be a tough one to get back upright with a 53 lb battery strapped to it. Good thing is that the whole set up is IP 67 waterproof.

Great Ride! Are You worried about Hooks in the raft?
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
manny Excellent question! I’ve owned an inflatable before - a 16 foot cataraft. I have bounced jerkbaits off of the inflatable material, caught musky in it, ran into sharp jagged volcanic type ledge rock and pinched it in my trucks tailgate. The material is tough! Check out some of the Sea Eagle videos on testing durability. They drive a vehicle over it and do some other stuff. So, I’m not at all worried about the hooks puncturing it.

What anchor do you use and how many pounds? Can you recommend Boonedox lending system if yes which one.Thank you
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 4 жыл бұрын
Alex Veyberman I use an 8 lb mushroom anchor. It’s such s lightweight boat that it does the trick. An aluminum hull the same size would need a heavier anchor. You will need the Boonedox Landing Gear with the longer legs. I had to do some cutting and grinding of the rubber blocks to get one corner of the Landing Gear base to attach where the rubber blocks lock into the wood transom piece.

How puncture resistant is this from fish spines.
@TheLittleStuff
@TheLittleStuff 5 жыл бұрын
Ascension5dEarth I’ve bounced a jerkbait off it hard, so fish spines are no issue. If you go to the Sea Eagle Website, they show a truck driving over one of their inflatables and it did not puncture.
