Thank you for your comment. I'm very new to this (at 63 😁) and learning as I go. I hope to cover all of Norfolk before spreading out to Suffolk & Essex. By the time I've done that, I should have mastered it 😂

Agreed but not much of a video in the dark. The week before there was loads of undersized Bass too

I have always found Cley fishes better 1 hour from top and all the way down and there is a lovely smoke House in Cley its self nice to watch your footage

My first time at Cley was 25th June, fished from low up to 3hrs after high. That was also a very hot day with very clear water and no surf. All I managed was a 7" weever and a foul hooked sandeeel. There were at least 6 other anglers around that also blanked. Going again soon after the unsettled weather so will hopefully pick through the crabs stealing bait for some nice flatties/bass.

Thanks for your report. It has been fishing quite hardly since this spell of very hot weather. I've been this morning early hours ,3am to 7am on the lures for a Bass. Had one of 40cm in the dark. Once it got light the mackerel turned up so I managed breakfast as well 👍

@david892006 going next Saturday (22nd), low around 4am so hopefully will get something before the bathers start going in. Was lovely to see the large bull seal roaming around last time I was there, no doubt didn't help with lack of fish either.

@@kevinhall2069 He made his usual appearance this morning just after first light. Then dragged himself out 500yds up the beach near the boats... The sea was boiling at first light but they soon moved out .

@East Angling I need support alright. Think I'll be OK on feathers but I'm too early right? I'm thinking of buying a Sonik rod and reel and tripod and a 2 hook flapper with lug and go from there.

My advise to you would be. Go into a tackle shop, one by the sea would be best. Explain what your going to do and they should give you the best advice and more importantly, the correct tackle. If your in Norfolk, Ray's of Runton or Gorleston Tackle.

Cley car park charges run from around Easter to October. Othwise parking is free. If you are a Norfolk Wildlife trust member it is free all year. Further east is Salthouse and is free parking but limited space. Further east again is weybourne beach carpark which is a pay and display.

What about lure fishing? Is this beach good for bass? Lure fishing I mean.

Hello. Yes this beach can be very good for Bass and Mackerel fishing. The water needs to be fairly clear and not too rough. Keep on the move and look for the birds working the water or any small whitebait fish on the shore line . Good luck 🤞
