Thank you Graeme, you are growing on me. I have enjoyed this vid. I have spent many an hour sat under my umbrella with my pals night fishing. Through all the worst of UK’s weathers, for not much at all till I learned to pendulum cast! It transformed my fishing , simp,es! It’s not an easy action to learn though. It requires the correct rods and reels and some expert tuition, plus a determination to learn the technique. Best advice I could give is to get along to a surf casting tournament, start chatting with the participants and give it a try. Who knows you may enjoy yourself. The guaranteed way to more fish !

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, it was very interesting and lots of fun too. You’re so down to earth, great stuff. I do love the south coast, such a beautiful spot Graham. It was also thought provoking, when you spoke about the fish you saw as a child, compared to today. It reminded me of myself. Not fish, but butterflies 🦋 When I was a child in the late 60’s - early 70’s, (I lived in Swindon, Wiltshire back then) I remember seeing many different breed of butterflies. I would put a flower head in the bottom of a jam jar, punch holes in the lid and catch butterflies. I was able to catch them with my hands, there were that many. I would watch them and memorise their markings. I let each of them go after 10 minutes or so, to catch the next butterfly. I’ve noticed a steady, quite dramatic decline in the butterfly population over the past 50 years. Some of the breeds I saw as a child, are either hardly ever seen or extinct now. Something strange I noticed this year. I always let a couple of house spiders build their egg nest on my front door frame. I guess it’s sheltered and they’ve always built them there, well at least the 20 years I’ve lived here. 10 spiders would build there if I let them but I only let 2 stay. I remove the others. Remember that each hatch hundred babies, if not more 👀 Anyway, I noticed that only one spider built a nest this year. I found the start of one nest on a plant pot, but nothing else. Isn’t that weird? I wondered if the summer we just had, was too much for them. I also bought a new watering can recently, because my one had become home to at least 30 snails. I guess the ground was so impacted they couldn’t nest. I even had baby snails born in that watering can 🐌 That’s not something I’ve seen before. A theory.... Our governments have tested hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of nuclear and Chemical weapons over the past 50 years, surely that is a contributing factor to not only the health of our environment but us too...just a thought 🤓 Oh my goodness I’ve waffled. Thank you for your video 🌈
@TAFishing6 жыл бұрын
Not waffled,you have actually taken the trouble to notice changes. Its a shame the powers that be don't look into some of these theories ,but the trouble is it can only be the older generation that can actually say how things used to be. Sounds like you should be watching some of our other channel T.A.Outdoors where we have quite a few "theory times" going on...its certainly gets lots of comments.
@CazPea6 жыл бұрын
TAFishing Thank you. I actually discovered TA Outdoors last year, love that too, that’s how I came across your own channel. Keep up the good work, your videos are a breath of fresh air ( no pun intended) to watch and your one liners crack me up 🌈

I admire your dedication and persiverence, well done. Here in Barbados the sargassum weed is so bad that I cannot go out in my small boat, as it fouls the prop. Even the big boats are staying in. Wonderful filming and information. You are a living legend.
@TAFishing6 жыл бұрын
Usually the Sargassum weed means lots of Dorado and Wahoo underneath . I didn't know it caused that much of a problem,but when the wind changes and it starts to raft up in floating mats offshore,there should be some great Dorado fishing.(I don't call them Dolphin,as people who don't understand fishing don't realise that there is a Dolphin fish as well as the mammal).

So true about the fishing Graeme, I can remember when I was a kid going to Mevagissi and on top of the harbour wall was packed with fishermen and most were all catching something including me and my first fish which was a mackerel on float. Now they have built a walkway in front of the harbour wall which is better but the fishing is absolutely rubbish now, unfortunately like most places are getting now.
@TAFishing6 жыл бұрын
Used to be big shore conger off that pier as well,don't know if they still get them.Mostly December I recall...and they were really big for shore eels..probably a thing of the past now.
@alexmurphy20496 жыл бұрын
Good spot I used to fish In the Solent when I lived there a couple of years ago was the mouth of the river Hamble. At low tide it leaves a deep narrow channel where it joins Southampton Water, which you can walk right up too. The fish seem to sit in it and wait for food to drift down. At high tide there's always mullet in the river itself and Warsash beach that looks out towards Fawley has always been pretty good, especially for bass.
@DjDolHaus866 жыл бұрын
Graeme, to solve your slack line conundrum you'll need a sprung clothes peg (stronger spring the better), a thick rubber band, some glue and some string. You want to take your big elastic band and cut out two half inch long sections, these sections will be glued to the inside of the jaws of the peg so it can pinch/grip the line effectively, you then drill a small hole in the handle of the peg and attach your string to use as a bobbin chain, you can then tie that to the buzz bar. A strong spring will allow you to increase the weight of the peg/bobbin to increase indication without it losing grip too easily. There are of course commercially available bobbins designed for the task (I use Avid Carp ones myself) but I know how you love your DIY so hope this helps

I have to thanks you for the effort you put into these videos, and especially for the recent longer sea angling ones. As for the alarms, use a Delkim alarm and no need to worry about elastic. Just don't do it near me if you want to keep hold of your alarms, I go sea fishing to escape all that stuff. ;) We also fish the same beaches it seems, unfortunately the results are about the same as well, not been a good year down these.
