Sea fishing trip to Normans Bay Pevensey in Sussex after Thornback Rays and Smooth hounds on a rainy day with North Easterly breeze on a rising tide.
This venue fishes well all year and I was here with my friend Ross who caught the largest fish he has ever caught and made his day. Have had many blank days and today struck fish gold.

Hi Anthony thanks for watching and the support much much appreciated. As you rightly say the blanks have to happen to make the day more enjoyable when you do catch was starting to doubt my ability having fished for over forty years 😂 I like putting the fish back quickly as it seems unfair to parade them around and not treat them with respect after all the excitement they give you. More importantly protects the fish stock in a small way. They were all sizeable females who can produce sport for the young anglers of the future 👍👍 best regards Paul

I never thought of you as a pillock Paul, more a folk hero, one for the masses. However now I'm thinking more control freak. Get those who could empathise with your suffering watching along and then crush any self esteem they had with a haul more akin to a beam trawler. My only consolation is that with only female rays being caught, you obviously listened to my pheromone advice, did you wonder why more lady dog walkers stopped for a chat? Anyway, well done Numpty Boy, probably just a one off lucky session so I shall keep watching.

Hi chap thanks for the great comment what do they say about buses... was due a few fish as was starting to go slowly mad with fishing fever 🥵 it was the plan all along to lull fishermen out there to feel sorry for me 😂😂still cannot believe it and when I told my son he thought I was winding him up. Problem now is to repeat catching and not just making videos by the sea big thanks for your support much appreciated and also given up lager on your advice re pheromones and it worked 👍👍 and drinking a beer called proper job cheers Paul

Hi and thanks for watching and really appreciate the supportive positive comments. Ross paints a picture each time we go out and is a very talented although shy fellow. He caught the biggest fish of his life and happy for him. Am at Bracklesham this weekend with wife but howling winds and totally unfishable and planning to get down here next weekend targeting stingray which again Ross has never caught and trying to get him a different species on each trip. Say your prayers for me to the wind gods 😂👍👍👍cheers Paul

Hi Kevin good of you to watch some of my older videos and really appreciated. Am not out this weekend a combination of winds from south, weed being blown in and wife wanting to do stuff 😃 Am aiming to chase some rays down in Dymchurch with a local acting as my guide on a mark he knows at night. Sitting here at work in the dark listening to the rain lashing 👍🎣🎣🎣

Fished exactly the same mark for 7 hours last Friday and all I got was a Silver Eel! The winter storms have transformed the beach. It’s very steep angle at the moment and had uncovered some ancient wooden groynes that are very snaggy

Morning fellow and feel for you, because if you are like me look forward to the session, plan it and get excited driving to the beach, get all the rods out and think to oneself all looking good. The hours trundle by and then the sinking feeling hits. Good to know about the groynes and no fishing for me this weekend as recovering from a couple of operations which is ruddy tedious but aiming for following weekend cheers and take care 👍🎣🎣

Hi Carl I was starting to get a little impatient and even though been sea fishing all my life was starting to doubt if I still had the knowledge to tempt something a little bigger. Although always tough as winter species gone and water and weather still a little cold for summer species. Am down at the caravan in Bracklesham and wanted to fish this weekend but sea rough as whotsits and wind and rain howling so drinking wine with wife instead. Hopefully out next Friday and next species are stingray which are a bit tricky to catch and water needs to be warmer. 🤞🤞But got to be in it to win it. Cheers for watching and commenting really appreciated Paul👍👍👍
