Sea Fishing Scotland - Fife - Anstruther Harbour - Multiple Species on Baits

Over in Fife this time, fishing at Anstruther harbour.
An action packed session, catching lots of different species. Wrasse, Coal fish, Rockling, Blenny and Sea Scorpion, some really nice fish as well as lots of little ones.

Well done on the catches and the variety, always good to get different species. On the pollock you were talking about i have seen some nice size ones coming out of there but not caught by me sadly. Tight lines.

So glad you caught so many mate I was back up there yesterday and they stripped my bait everytime ..even had a bent hook 😢..its a cracking spot if you can get a 5mtr tide ..still time for Makarel ..theres Cod just by the creel pots too

@@N57Fishing what size hooks do you mainly use im sure the Wrasse were laughing at my hook choice

@@andrewcollins867 usually size 4 or 6. I’m sure I had 6s on the close in rod and 4s on the other one, I changed those to 1/0 circle hooks after the big wrasse nearly straitened one.

I’ve been fishing up at Elie lighthouse recently as I found Anstruther really busy but it looks good there. I’m catching plenty of good sized coal fish and I think you’re onto something with hook size. I’ve been slowly reducing and stopped at 1/0’s and 1’s for most of the Fife coast. I’ve always been a believer that you don’t need big baits and hooks to catch big fish, might be because I grew up trout fishing, catching big fish with size 14s etc. The next sea fishing video, filmed on Saturday, we catch 3 or 4lb pollock on size 2 circles. @@NeilMacinnes-w8c In the summer months you’ll get them most rocky places. Winter would be a struggle in Fife, they tend to go to deeper spots when it’s cold and the Fife coast is pretty shallow. When it heats up a bit you should get them from most of the harbours along the coast at high tide, aim for deep rocky spots instead of sandy areas. Anstruther probably best, that’s where I’ll be heading again in the summer. Want to try and get that monster I lost last year. Cheers
