There you go again, taking the time to save a ling from dying needlessly using a device I would think most people have never heard of. Never mind the fact you put two "table sized" eating pollock back. You are a shining example to us all of what sea fishing is all about. As others comment on how enjoyable the fish locker videos are, I can only agree with them, you are a refreshing delight to watch what ever method of fishing/foraging/exploring you are doing. Thank you for posting and keeping us entertained.

Just when I think I couldn’t enjoy one of your videos more you give us utter joy! Starting the day with the dolphins would be enough for me. I almost hold my breath sometimes waiting for the release, so watching the descender to give that fish its second chance was nothing short of elation. I didn’t know such a thing existed but I am over the moon to learn of it. I am just days away from my permanent move to the Atlantic! I can’t wait to see what I can find there in North Carolina USA, but I’ll keep you posted! Thank you, John, as always, for sharing your passion and knowledge with us.

I grew up on the river danube, my father was fishing regularly with a net. I loved fishing as i grew up but never had money to buy a rod, gear. So i made my own from 2 hazelnut sticks tied together, about 3 metres of line, a wine bottle cork for a floating rig, and old hooks i often found by the river. For lead i used lead sheets that i made from lead pipes, and wrapped around the line close to the hook. Had fun, didn't catch that many fish... Hopefully I'll start shore fishing this year and then who knows.

It’s a very fine line between sticking it out that little bit longer and knowing when to call it.

The dolphins are always a joy to see aren’t they. The sounder was me treating myself. It’s overkill but I figured I’d treat myself. 🤣

@@TheFishLocker yeah it’s always nice to see them. We get them in the Tay estuary. It looks like a good toy anyway good to see the fish chasing the lure.

Stunning as usual. I've not watched for a while, realised what I've been missing! I guess that there's no point in me trying for some mackerel from the shore in Dorset? I would guess they'll be in the warmer and deeper water. What a great selection of fish 🐟 👌

I knew my day was potentially going to be a long one, and taking fish at Dawn means they’re on the boat a good while. Plus, and more importantly- my freezer was already full.

Quality fishing as usual 👍 I thought Conger when you lost the first one. I hooked a big one off deep rocks a long while back - a gentle bite followed by a strong pull down; I just couldn’t move it and after a long “tug of war” the hook trace finally gave up. Powerful creatures indeed !

Another fantastic video John which shows your brilliant 'feel' for your craft, or 'gut instinct' for where fish are. It also shows your sustainable approach to nature which also raises a question from a non fishing guy like me. What is your driving force that lets you decide what size fish you will take home on any given day? The average guy would have taken the two Pollock that you caught & returned home to the table. Great device shown to help return a fish to the depth where it can recover more fully. Always educational & always entertaining, Don from South Aust.
