Used to fish this in 1960s and stayed over weekends, and yes you need to know the tides well. Recall sitting on the beach opposite Swanbridge, after the tide had cut us off, and a guy cam up and asked where a telephone was? Laughed so much it still makes me titter. Had to wait for next low to get off! Anyway in June at time of high spring tides there is the gulley next to the ‘monkey pole’ which wasn’t there when I was a lad, which filled when tide was up and fished well for bass with spinners BUT you are fishing over racks/snags so nowadays I guess a hard plastic floating shallow diver. If I recall at high water the water clarity is good, provided it’s not blowing a hoolie! I’ve seen waves during severe gales breaking across the middle of the island on one occasion in a gale combined with spring high tide. Again crossing should be done with care as in my youth occasionally people would drown attempting to cross when the water started to produce the waterfall in the middle. Reminiscences of my youth.

You could mate yes but it's a 12 hour wait. People have chanced trying to cross when the causeway is flooding back in. And they have got in bother. Thanks for watching mate. 👍🏻
