Hi Mark, a good video, I like your idea about a novices guide to sea fishing, I have been sea fishing for 62 years, yes that long, i learnt most of what I know from books ,making mistakes, and other experienced people. the gear was no where near as good as it is now, and we all move on with the the times and tackle improvement. What I would like to see you do is to start with budget rod and reel say below £150 for both see the set up and how to use it, and see what you catch. A lot cant or wont spend hundreds of pounds on a set up. this doesnt apply to me, and some people cant use the really heavy duty gear and blast a 8oz weight 120 yds. and can only go to the easy marks, if I can be of any help let me know.

Hi Joe. If you have t fished there before, IT would be nest if you went with a guide or someone that knows what they are doing at the venue. SULLY is a dangerous place and it would take a RNLI boat to rescue you if stuck or if anything happens.

Cracking Tope Well done.
@frederickpritchard9945 ай бұрын
Loved the video, Matt and the tope was special along with the smoothies. That estuary is noted for the tope turning up and back in the '50 +' 60s the veteran school teacher, Clive Gammon and marine biologist would fish the Bury Holmes estuary mouth at low tide and was brilliant at catching tope and other species. On some sessions he would catch on mackerel and blank on the tope other days. When he did land a Tope he gutted it to find out what the fish had been feeding on and discovered a belly full of small flounders. Hence why they turn up on that estuary. Fished CefnSidan decades ago and always got wound up by Clive about our trips. A brilliant all round angler who spent time in the USA. He published some great books along with the Welsh sea angling guide. Rip Clive. ❤😊
@pinnacleangling5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the informative comment, Fredrick. I have also been told there is a bay at West Hook where Tope are caught using Flounder in and around the early autumn. I will look into to Clive and his literature this weekend. Thanks mate.

Clive was a respected New York based international sports journalist. And not to mention.... Welsh fishing legend. Dave Lewis ( Sea Angler Magazine) often cites in his articles his various lifetime fishing sorties with Clive Gammon eg fishing in Ireland or boat fishing you name it Clive (and Dave) did it.
