Thanks everyone for your positive support & love! 🧡 It brings me so much joy to connect with kind hearted people from across the globe. Feel free to leave a comment or question & I'll be more than happy to reply!
Fun Facts about me:
~ I’ve never owned a vehicle (Or Drivers license)
~ Smartphone either
~In 2008 I sold my home in Calgary Alberta & moved over 5000 kilometers to a place I’d never been after deciding life was too short & have been making things up ever since, living free and on my own terms connected to nature. (I'd never seen or heard of sea glass before moving to a road which turns to dirt, then falls into the sea, however its discovery was inevitable as its everywhere!)
~ My first 2 summers on Cape Breton were spent working on a farm, living in a tent next to a cornfield. We had to walk a kilometre to the farmhouse & back everyday for water, showering when it rains or the closest body of water (side note, I learned quickly soap won’t lather with saltwater!).🙃
Those experiences further enhanced my appreciation for life’s simplicities & the importance of living on ones own terms…1000 generations have led to these moments (Long days spent on my knees harvesting are probably why I’m such a good picker!)
~ I'm probably listening to the year"1993" (The music of my youth) although the years which surround it are awesome as well!
~ I’ve never had a resume
~ I'm Left handed (Teaching myself music everything was upside-down!)
~ I spend under $100 on clothing a year. ( Which you might of noticed)
~ I spend $0.00 on takeout food a year however do appreciate the tastes of each and every restaurant chain.
~ Everyday I walk my doggies (off leash by the sea or through the woods) a minimum of 10kms a day. Since moving to Cape Breton we’ve walked the equivalent of earths circumference together without leaving the island! 🌎
~ My 120 year old (one bedroom) home doesn’t have a dryer, or bathtub, or foundation. During the coldest winter chill I’ve gone weeks without running water. It’s “cottage living” year round. A small brook runs behind my home, it’s an ancient game trail once used by indigenous people and despite urbanization any animal imaginable can follow the stream past my window to my amazement…growing up in Montreal the largest undomesticated animal I’d ever encountered was a squirrel.
~ As a youth I wanted to be John Lennon & his words & message have always spoke dearly to me heart.
~ That being said, I live my life like a Beatles song & do my best to “Radiate Everything I Am” without fear & be the change I want to see In the world .
~ Born & raised Anglophone in Montreal, I speak French as well & learned enough Spanish, Croatian & Arabic to get myself into conversations which are over my head but good fun!
~ I don’t eat meat with the exception of when kind neighbors leave a food basket on my front step, then I won’t waste it.
~ In person my excitement level is greatly amplified, no matter the activity.
~ Mostly, If you think I’m passionate about sea glass, you should see me with my children & the special relationship we have. They are my destiny & life’s greatest gift!
~ If you've made it this far theirs's one more thing I wanted you to know however its not easy for me to say:
Every moment I struggle with the Symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome, which might help with understanding why I'm so passionate, have a great memory, a terrible grip & live the life of a sea hermit, safe for my children. (Also always have music on as it helps keep me "out" of my head).
I've such a deep rooted connection to the world around me. Each and every one of you mean so very much to me, I cant thank you enough for your love and positive support!
The world is a better place when we're able to treat a stranger like an old friend and make them feel good about themselves!
Oceans of love all! 🧡

Hi there Siona! 🌅 Thank you so much for sharing your time & enjoying my adventures! 🧡 I love to share the beachcombing experience I enjoy & it brings me so much joy knowing the knowledge and passion shared is appreciated. That fourth red while I was taking a photo will be one I’ll never forget and tell of its story often. I wasn’t a believer in “the laws of attraction” until this occurrence as Red Sea glass is not something I expect to see on my shorelines, as you might of noticed from my videos. Hugs! 🌅

How nice of you to say Lindsay! 🌅 I’m not sure exactly where you’ll be staying however love to help whenever possible! I’ve learned the best spots out this way are the old coal mining towns within “Industrial Cape Breton” While the highlands and Cabot Trail are globally renowned, outside of Inverness beach, there’s not an abundance of sea glass as it’s never had the populations (and thus rubbish) as towns such as Glacé Bay or The North side! Best of luck!

@@SeaGlassArchaeology One question- when you show those dangerous cliffs, it makes me wonder how you make it safely down to the shore. Are there safe access points?
@SeaGlassArchaeology

Great question Ruth as many shoreline beaches out this way can prove difficult to access. I do have a particular spot to descend where the degree of difficulty varies depending on the conditions & have seen teenagers take the much riskier avenue and repel!

Hi Mike!! When I lived in Las Vegas I delivered newspapers to a higher end neighborhood and I was usually the first to see the treasure on the curb on trash day. Since I drove a small pickup with a camper shell, I was able to get goodies and no one knew of my klepto-like actions. Fun stuff, yes??? Would you entertain the idea of using your super special teeny finds to make jewelry? I would LOVE that purple privacy class or smallest cats eye marble (I am an obsessed cat lady). Superb video with lots of finds and facts.

Thanks for sharing a bit of yourself and adventures in salvaging Neesr! 🙏 I bet you encountered some very unique items, both large and small ( all of which I’d love to hear more about!). Out this way once a year we have “ heavy pickup “ where anything which is not an environmental hazard is acceptable. As the population aged and left for work many homes sat filled with original contents and were then sold at tax sales when the new owners placed the entire contents to the curb side. I love to help whenever possible and have been making simple sea glass jewelry for over a decade. These two finds you mentioned would look absolutely stunning if properly set (such as a bezel) while I’ve no experience with silversmithing I’ve set hundreds of marbles on simple sterling silver (bail) setting so that could be a possibility! 🌅

Moon wise what is best time to look for seaglass and please tell me what you do with all your seaglass
@SeaGlassArchaeology
@SeaGlassArchaeology 3 жыл бұрын
Great question Raewyn! ⭐️ Our planets tides are governed primarily by the gravitational pull of the moon and its lunar cycle. Every “new” & “Full” moon the gravitational pull of our Sun is becomes an added factor & creates a maximum tidal variance known as a “spring tide” which is the optimal time to hunt treasures as much more shoreline will be exposed (and will have cycled). During “quarter moons” we experience a more minimal difference from high to low tide. If we google search; “any town name” + tide charts, it should take you to sites with display these tide differences in a simple to read (and understand manner) I’m so glad you brought this up and will absolutely address it further in an upcoming video in hopes to help all my Beachcombing friends out there! 🌅

I just have a question about sea glass. What is the difference between sea foam and sea glass?
@SeaGlassArchaeology
@SeaGlassArchaeology 3 жыл бұрын
Great question Jessica! When I mention “sea foam” it’s in reference to a specific colour of sea glass which is more on the green side of the “aqua” spectrum. Actual Sea foam (bubbles) are caused by agitated sea water where higher concentrations of organic materials such as algae are present. (I’ve learned sea foam is quite dirty and doesn’t leave the skin feeling nice at all). I hope this bit of info helps, sorry for any confusion with my terminologies! 🌅
