Are you looking for a weekend cruiser? Then check out this 2008 Sea Ray 280 Sun Dancer powered with twin Mercruiser 4.3 LT engines. For added bonuses, this vessel has a 5KW generator and the cabin has AC/Heat for year 'round comfort and a windlass for easy anchoring!
The cockpit can be fully enclosed with it's Camper Canvas and features lots of seating, a teak table, wet bar and a "ladies like it" aft facing port-side chaise seating. At the helm we have the classic Sea Ray wood & leather tilt steering, touchpad electronic switches and a Garmin 541 Chartplotter. For comfort, the captains bucket has a thigh rise bolster: the seat swivels and is also height adjustable. In the cabin, to port there is a booth dinette with a solid cherry wood table which can convert to a small sleeper and gunwale cabinet storage. Forward in the "V" there is another solid table and this area converts to a well padded berth for 2 with a privacy curtain, hanging lockers and swing out TV with a DVD Player. To starboard is a functioning galley complete with sink, stove, refrigerator and microwave. Aft, the head is fully lined to make clean up easy and the Vac-U-Flush system keeps the boat fresh and odor free. Let's not forget the mid-cabin which is full beam and double wide so 2 can sleep comfortably. Here there is a large sliding window for light and air, a mirrored locker for storage and a curtain for privacy.
This is a very clean 280 Sundancer, well appointed with the Camper Canvas, padded vinyl interior, Cherry wood interior, electronics and twin Mercruiser 4.3 LT Motors with recent riser & manifolds. Someone is going to get a great Sea Ray at a bargain price!

I owned this model, 2003 sturdy little boat, had the twin 5.0 ltr, sleeping accomadation is not great for tall people, over 6ft tall, was fun as our first larger boat

I realize this boat is long gone, but I’ve been watching listings of 260 Sundancers because I thought it’s the largest Sundancer that’s trailerable, but a friend told me he’d seen these 280’s trailered. It does exceed the 8’6” maximum beam, does it not? Please clarify, because if I can pull a 280, I’ll change my search. Awesome boat.

From 2002 thru 2009 the 280 Sea Ray had a 9 Foot 5 in Beam. In 2010 the redesign brought the beam down to 8'10'. Now depending on the state you live in, check with your DMV. In California with a permit you can trailer up to 10' wide with time & route restrictions ( Check with CADMV for further information & requirements). I've had a lot of these 280's on a trailer. The boat was offered with twin V-6 motors, twin V-8 (305's) and a single 454 ( 7.4 LT) then the 8.1. I've driven them all and each configuration has it's pluses & minuses.

No, as on a twin engine, lower profile 28' boat there would be little need. There is a company, Yacht Thruster that make a few that could be fitted to this. One model hangs below the keel and another model could be built into the hull.
