Man I just noticed that Roxas and Xion actually have mirrored reactions to the ice cream, which if you take the ice cream as a metaphor for their frienship and the events in the game, hits like a bag if bricks. Roxas says "it's salty... But sweet" because the friends he makes and the events that happen are painful and awful to go through, but they're all important to him and despite all the pain he loves his friends and the memories they share. Xion reacts with "it's sweet... But salty" because even though she wants more than anything to continue the friendship and keep what they have going, it will mean keeping them in the dark, either way they're bound to get hurt and the whole situation sucks.

I plan on making my own sea-salt ice cream like in the games, and this only makes me wanna make it more. A reminder of how life is salty in that it always throws you obsticles you're ill prepared for, but sweet in that it gives you cheery moments to help ease the pain.

first off, amazing video, it was so fun to work on it (except for the parts where i was actually crying), but second while making the video i started to think that while i don't think it's wrong to say roxas is *the* main character associated with sea salt icecream while i was making the video i slowly started to think that axel has such a right to that title as well. (i mean he was the one who even intruduced the ice cream to roxas which in turn made him share it with xion).

@@KeyofTime15 i mean there's a reason they're called "sea salt trio" i just slightly started noticing how much axel has to do with sea salt icecream (intruduces it to roxas as previously mentioned but also in 3 gives it to kairi and even before the final battle he's eating "3" sea salt ice creams before isa comes and takes one for himself as they share one last moment before the ending begins.

I have always defend the ice cream line. This is how roxes imo remembers all his good memories with his friends and it always rub the wrong way how people made fun of this line so thank your for describing this ice cream and line. Made me tear up just watching it :,)

This was a great video. Making me relive the pain of Days aside, it is nice to look back at some of the things you can take for granted in the series. You see the ice cream as a recurring motif and have an emotional association with it, but you put it into words in a way that I think a lot of people never really connect without being told verbally like this. I always loved the Sea Salt Ice Cream scenes. They were so cozy. But also seeing a bite taken out of it feels like a lie ahahaha Also, some of those clips near the end made me realize how little of KH3 I remember... I feel like Axel Roxas and Xion were barely featured, but maybe I was wrong? Or might be Re:Mind stuff since I never played that.

I'm not sure if this is the place to share this. But I realized something. And that happen, when I was thinking about being genuine and vulnerable, and how many people want to be "cool." I think most people do not understand what that really means. In English it is very obvious, cool meaning cold. In my country, Luxembourg, where we speak Luxembourgish, which is very similar to German, boys in school back then wanted to be cool. Thinking that being that, means being strong, and thus being accepted by the groups they tried to fit in, instead of being weak, when they were vulnerable. For whatever reason we are taught that vulnerability means being weak. When people say something is "cheesy", most of them try to down play values relating to vulnerability. As if we needed to be ashamed, when we feel good, and touched by human values. As I was also raised in such a society, and lacked emotional care, I am deeply longing for those qualities, which can be an advantage in the world we live in. These values many of us were taught were weak is in truth what makes us human. And I think it is important to find these qualities in ourselves and share them with others. We really need it. We are all deprived of gentleness, kindness, compassion, love, affection, emotional safety, and more. Now to what I realized when I thought about these things. Riku... He is a manifestation of masculinity. "The strength to protect what matters." is exactly what healthy masculinity is about. It wants to protect, and to initiate. I am not saying that Riku is literally a manifestation of masculinity. More as a metaphor. And Sora... he is the manifestation of femininity. Being empathic in a huge way. Femininity is all about receptiveness, gentleness, vulnerability, holding space, etc. Sora is doing exactly that. It's not about being male or female. Masculinity and femininity are both energies we all carry in us. Some people more of the one and others express more of the other. I am male, and I am expressing more of the feminine side, being very emotional, and sensitive. And I realized something else. Masculinity, in its healthy state, wants nothing more than to protect its counterpart, femininity, speaking about those two energies again. And femininity loves. Everything that is. Masculinity included. As I realized that it felt like a dance between those two energies, and it reminded me of Riku wanting to protect Sora, and Sora loving Riku. I am keeping it open on what type of love that is. I think connecting with both the masculine and feminine side of us is important. And I think that's what I wanted to share. Thank you for reading this. And I wish that you could get something out of this. Take care. You have both the strength to initiate, and the vulnerability to receive everything you need. 🌺

Demyx did seem like he was acquainted with Roxas, but the latter just never seemed to warm up to him. He just seemed to think that Demyx was a slacker, which he is. Honestly, with how much Demyx is wandering off. I wonder why we don't see anyone else running or just staying away from the World That Never Was. All of the members use dark corridors to get from place to place, so if it's that easy. Perhaps, there were actually members before Roxas, Xion and Axel that fled the Organization and never came back. We only ever see Saix tracking down Axel in KH2. So, Xemnas just seems to be a pretty lousy cult leader since Demyx is always running off after a mission.
