The Sea to Sky Gondola is located just south of Squamish and about 45 minutes north of Vancouver, Canada.
The ride up to the Summit Lodge is unbelievably scenic and takes about 10 minutes. The gondola cabins each seat up to 8 people and they are wheelchair and stroller accessible. At the time of this video, you are seated in the gondola with your travelling party only.
Once at top, Summit Lodge has a small gift shop, the Co-Pilot Cafe (great place to grab a coffee, light snack or ice cream) and the Sky Pilot Restaurant. Reservations for the restaurant are highly recommended. It features a stunning outdoor dining patio over looking Howe Sound and an air conditioned inside dining area. The food here was really good and we really enjoyed our lunch!
These are the views from the outdoor patio! They offer many different events, during the summer they have yoga sessions that they do on this platform with these gorgeous views. They also typically have a summer outdoor live music series which will hopefully be starting again soon.
From the Summit Lodge, you can experience the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge.
There's many places to relax and enjoy your surroundings. They also have this “food truck” inspired quick service option for snacks.
We did the Panorama Trail on our visit, it's a well maintained loop trail that's about 1.3 kilometres in length. I had brought along my aunt and my 85 year old Grandmother and they both enjoyed the trail. There is even a chance to see some local wildlife and take in the amazing nature around you.
Make sure to stop by this stunning viewpoint on the Panorama Trail, it's a 360 degree view of Howe Sound, Squamish and the surrounding mountains.
There's many different trails that are accessible from the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola. Some of them do require a separate Provincial Park Pass, so make sure to do some research before hand on which hikes you plan to do while visiting.
The Sea to Sky Gondola is open pretty well year round and has awesome activities in both the Summer or the Winter months. I highly suggest visiting if your ever in the area.
The gondola sits on land on which is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the sovereign Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) First Nation.
This was a gifted experience in partnership with Sea to Sky Gondola and Tourism Vancouver.
