I have a Sea to Summit 1.2L Pot and thought I would like to see what the difference would be between the MSR Ceramic 1.3L Pot. I'm going on a 3 day and 2 night hike on the Pine Mountain Trail (PMT) and thought it would be the right time to use the MSR pot. I plan to use a new app called Relive and track my hike. Unfortunately the second day 5 mile hike was not recorded but I did get the first 3.1 miles. I was really disappointed when I started editing and it was missing. Bummer!!!

I bought the MSR pot and almost took it back to REI because the handle would not snap onto top of the pot. I did the same thing you did, wondered what the little 'useless' crimps on the edge of the lid were for. THEN, I watched your video, and was like, I have a Masters degree in science, and still did not see the obvious, the handle does snap down, OVER the crimps, and hold the lid on in storage. So you saved me a lot of trouble and now I really like the MSR pot, lol

@@SeniorHiker77 Could I ask one question? What size gas canisters would you say you could fit in these? With the Sea to Summit being a touch taller, could it fit an 8oz gas canister do you think?
@SeniorHiker77
@SeniorHiker77 3 жыл бұрын
That is one of the disappointing things about both these pots. The 8oz canisters will not fit in either. The canisters are just a tad bit to tall. You can fill the dead space up with many knick-knack items. Hope this helps. 👌
