It’s a natural thing for predators to dig into sea turtle nests looking for food. However, people have altered coastal environments so much that raccoons, coyotes and some other small animals no longer have natural predators themselves. They have adapted very well to living among people and thrive in places where garbage or pet food is left outside. The result is an unnaturally high number of predators near beaches that go after sea turtle nests. Fortunately, there are some simple, humane things we all can do to help reduce nest predation. Check out this video to see how you can help sea turtles survive!
