Thank you for this great capture which brings back memories my younger days, especially as I'm a retiree living in Western Australia!

Greetings from the Costa Del Sol. I've not been back to that area for about 25 years. Hoping to go for a little ride in that direction on my motorbike in the summer. I'm wanting to do that walk, and the cliff top walk then. Really enjoyed doing the walk with you. You refer to that large rock as "Red Rock". We used to call it "Langstone Rock".

Invigorating as always - but just a little saddening to see the state of the old lifeboat house. A distant Causley cousin was a lifeboatman at Dawlish in the 1870s.

Was he the man that used to sit outside with a lovely tan grey hair and beard. When we used to come to Dawlish at this sort of time he was always sitting outside in his deckchair.

@@karentoynton8948 Hi Karen - Just possible, I suppose, but he was dead by the 1930s, and by that time he had been moved from station to station along the coast, ending up in Co. Durham.

@@peterbaxter2913 think the man we used to see must have been someone else then, we have pictures of the person in question in photos at this time I mention.Maybe he had nothing to do with the station but door was always open and he used to always sit in the summer months outside in a deckchair and had a lovely Tan. I wasn’t about in the 30s so as you mention this time not the man in question sadly. He wasn’t a young person even then however.

Over the years of coming to Dawlish which must be about 40 sometimes several times a year. Our family have very found memories there and walking the sea wall both at Dawlish and Teignmouth. So nice to see it as it was. However we haven’t walked it with ice on the wall. Looked like some even braver than you on the bottom bit. Hehe. In many ways a shame it will not be the same anymore, but all round think it needed to be done from a safety point of view.. however just will not be the same. We will be there during this year. Looking to buy a flat there as a second home. But thinks some agents are being a little unfair on selling properties at the moment. So will have to wait a bit longer hehe
