It's the frame of PTC #31. All but 6 of the horses were carved by Ed Roth in 1995-96.

Verbeeck did a good job replicating a Wurlitzer 165

The facade is too stretched out horizontally though...

The original plan was to have a replica Wurlitzer 165 facade carved, and they took measurements from the Glen Echo organ. I don't think anybody thought the organ would go 14+ seasons without a facade, but I still hold out hope it will someday get one.

Yeah, it just looks... out of place without it. I mean they did a pretty good job recreating the look of the carousel with the replacement, I see no reason not to do it with the organ. I can't find any good color photos of the Seabreeze WurliTzer on the internet, so I suppose one possible problem would not having totally accurate references to work from.

I really have to say that the old Wurlitzer 165 sounded better. That's just my opinion but I still think the organ sounds great!

Didn't the original carousel have a ring toss?

Building acoustics are a factor. I think they were better in the old building, or at least the placement of the organ was better.

@anglerfly I think if you heard the Seabreeze organ in person, you'd have a higher opinion of it than you do now.

Are there or will there ever be any plans to create a new replacement facade for the Verbeeck Organ face, or do they intend to keep it the way it is?
