At 1pm the skies were blue and around 115 the cumulonimbus clouds began building along the seebreeze, which stretched through the middle of Pinellas County, from southern St. Pete and up through Tarpon Springs and over into western Hillsborough County. The first clap of thunder was at 125pm and by 145pm, the thunder grew quiet. We did not receive a drop of rain from this storm.
This happens all the time during the summer months. A seabreeze builds and thunderstorms blow up along the seabreeze, then the storms dissipate after a short time. This is typically a daily occurrence during the rainy season. This video is a classic example of an afternoon storm in central FL.
