Hello Peter. I am considering building the Seacliper 10 next spring. I would like to obtain your authorization to use passages from your videos on my KZbin channel to present my new project to my subscribers. Looking forward to your response. Sincerely. Bruno

How well does this boat go to windward without the daggerboard down? I am considering this boat for some shallow water. Thanks.

These boats seem to go to windward equally well with or without the dagger board. I sometimes leave the daggerboard at the beach.

What's the chaser boat ?

Hi, I know this has been up a while. What kind of sustained speeds do these boats make?
@lianmait14 Жыл бұрын
Hi Christian, these boats are not fast. I have sustained 7-8 knots with the spinnacker up and on a hot angle. Otherwise 4-5 knots is about it. Being so close to the water it feels very fast. They are fun boats and can handle 20 knots of wind with a reef in.

@@lianmait14 , thank you. I’d say 7-8 knots is pretty fast for a 10’ boat with an adult on board! Also, the construction does seem heavier than it needs to be. Perhaps if it was built lighter one could get a tiny bit more speed, but probably it’s more limited by waterline length than anything. I’m considering ordering the plans, but modifying it for traditional sailing ergonomics. In other words, hiking out to windward, along with using a scissor folding system somewhat similar to the larger seaclippers, but the floats would swing straight in against the main hull, rather than fold back towards the stern. The idea behind this is to use it as a dinghy for my 24’ tri. Folded it would just fit on the trampoline, and serve as a row/motor dinghy in the folded position without the rig and foils, but also unfold to sail when the mood suits. Because I’d be hauling the thing onto the tramp for storage while sailing, I’d have to build it as light as possible.

Hi there Sailor! I am currently contemplating buying a Seaclipper 10 here in West Aust it was professionally built, I am seeking to modify the fixed amas to folding ones, do you know if the design that they use on the 16 and 20 is suitable for the 10? Sailor John

At 3:57 into the video, so many cleated lines. What for, since there is only one sail. Thanks. Looks like fun.
@petermaitland48996 жыл бұрын
The boat carries a spinnaker with two sheets and two guys (port & starboard.) . Other lines include the spin halyard, main halyard, reefing line, outhaul, downhaul and vang. Behind my shoulders there is a traveller and a rudder hold down.... With the foot pedal steering there are two hands free to manage all the lines. Its a very fun boat.

Cleats! +! Great!! + Keeps your hands free for other things...(Sail adjustments; Set your sails and go!)
