Thor was a beautiful white lion with very unique traits, both look and personality wise. No wonder Kevin was heartbroken when he passed away. The god of thunder struck by lightning, miss this incredible animal.

Thor was an amazing lion. He was also strange lion. He didn't want to live with males or females. Kevin was the only individual in Thor's pride. I miss you boy!

In reading Kevin's book he said he never cried so hard after Thor's death. Thor was struck by lightening. Sad hearing how their relationship was rebuilt over 4 years and now he is gone and the relationship lost forever. The film ' White Lion' is touching and and beautifully shot. A lovely film and the care given to the animals and story is enchanting.

@@rayhoodoo847 they were filming and Kevin said he was pushed to his breaking point and he "Told Kevin" he was done. Grab his arm pushed him up against the filming cage and spat his arm out. Took 4 years to rebuild the trust between the 2 of them.

Thor was killed by lightening in 2013. Kevin was quoted as saying he "never cried so much". He now has another male, white lion named Thor. The new Thor plays Charlie in the movie "Mia and the White Lion". The movie premiers in the U.S. April 12, 2019.

Even though it cant be denied the small risk this man endures when being around these great animals, it can be clearly seen that he is having an amazing experience very few people on this entire planet are given the opportunity.. Personally , if I had the option to work as a lion caretaker, even with said "danger" involved, I would take the job without hesitation. Much better to have an incredible time with these lions, considering the minimum risk to survival involved, than to stay at home living an repetitive and bland life where you do the same things everyday ( on your comfort). So would you rather take no risks and live nothing, or would you rather take risks and embrace the epic situations life can give you? I would certainly choose the latter.

It wasn't tragic. Thor was old. Better to develop kidney disease or something and grow hobbled and on meds and slide into death, or die instantly as the lightning calls you back to Valhalla? I doubt he felt pain.

@@LindaSummer27 You can see him when he was much younger in Kevin's old documentaries. As an adult rent the movie, "The White Lion: A Journey Home." As Kevin says here, he's always the adult white lion. Sadly not too many videos--in his later years Thor was camera shy.
