Hi Kaylie, just wanted to share something with you about that compression nut that seals the cable into the back of the boat. The original one is plastic for a good reason. While brass may seem like a good idea, brass when inserted into aluminum will cause the aluminum to corrode due to galvanic action. It's basically the same thing that makes a battery work. That can make future removal a real pain in the neck. When you do something like that, you're better off using the original plastic and lubricating it with a little bit of silicone lubricant or non-hardening pipe dope. In addition, I left you a message on your part one of this job. You may want to consider buying yourself a 12-point crows foot wrench in 15/16" and a 18-in 3/8 drive extension. This way the ratchet or breaker bar that you use to turn It is out behind everything and you're not trying to jam your hands into a place that your hands don't want to fit in. This will reduce removing that nut down to approximately a minute and a half without having to remove any other parts off of the back of the drive. Here's the aforementioned tool. Stanley Proto J4930FL 12 Point Flare Nut Crowfoot Wrench 3/8" Drive 15/16 Thanks for the great video. It's always nice to know what kind of things you're getting yourself into before you start. Best wishes

There are files called thread files. They work really well for damaged threads. I have 2 files. They are square and double ended. Each end has different threads on each side.
