I've used one of those for my whole house before you want a water hammer arrester that helps move it out like the ram pump

I don't think it is a "flow sensor" but simply a pressure switch similar to a well pump setup. These little pumps work very well with a small pressure tank (seaflo and shurflow sell approx 2L tanks, but something up to 1 or 2 gallon is suitable - could even jerry rig something using a soda bottle or similar) to even out the water flow and reduce pump cycling.
