The fuel additive will clean your whole fuel system back to showroom not to mention it counters the effect of ethanol (alcohol) rusting out your gas tank and destroying all your rubber hoses. Great choice picking the Sea Foam! Don't forget to add it to your oil crankcase 100+ miles before changing oil. This will liquify any sludge build-up and clean the crankcase back to showroom clean as well.

I ran about half of a can on half of a tank of gas. That might seem excessive, but it really helped after about 50 miles of riding. Also, hanging some gauges on the bike to sync the carbs is crucial. Once they are sync'ed, you will notice the bike gets so much smoother and throttle response is greatly improved. My carbs were perfectly clean at the time as I had just rebuilt them. I can only ascertain that the slight hesitation problem I was having was carbon buildup on the intake or exhaust valves, or some very slight crud that could have been lodged somewhere after the rebuild process.

I have an 87' Kawasaki vulcan 1500 88 classic that I've been working on slowly but surely. Before I had it the bike was laying around in someone's junky yard. Had someone pry into my twin carburetor & cleaned it really good & replaced the kits ran like a champ but after awhile I started hearing tapping towards the top of the engine like Fuck! I need a valve job done. I ran the bike about a year while my bike was sounding like a old sewing machine tapping away driving & at idle' just recently I added seafoam to my fuel because we were going on a ride a group of us & also poured seafoam in my oil before I drove it 10 Miles away to do an oil change before we hit the road. Let's just say that along the ride I forgot to pay attention to the sound of the engine like damn I dont hear the tapping noise anymore while I was riding. Once I stopped at a gas station I sure enough listened to my bike & that tapping noise deffiently went away. Not sure if it was in the oil system body or the fuel but the sea foam definitely fixed what I thought would cost me more money !!!

As a general rule. When it spits out the pipes, carb is too rich. When it spits out the intake, carb is too lean.

This maybe a stupid question but why didn't you just put equal measures of Seafoam and fuel on a low tank and just run that mixture through until you needed to fill up the tank? Also, just add Seafoam into the oil and change it after say 200 miles Surely that would have been much easier with no tools required!!

I'm still new to the product however the aerosol and the fuel additive work differently from the research I've done. The spray sort of "pressure" cleans your combustion chamber. You start with it and clean out the big nasty carbon gunk and then the fuel addictive works slowly over time improving things. I never knew about putting it in the oil. I'll have to try it sometime.
