This is gonna be my New years eve dish. I will fix my greens and black eyed peas but then also jambalaya with this dressing.

When I made seafood dressing a couple of years ago, I bought the shrimp with their shells. I removed them, and made a stock with them with an old bay seafood crab boil bag. I also, place the shrimp and crab in the mixture raw and they cooked to the desired doneness while on the oven. I don't make it now because I have since developed an intolerance to crab meat.

I'm sure that is awesome and I will try it soon. The BEST dressing I ever had was my Aunt Anna's... she used crumbled cornbread, "scalded" oysters (they sell oysters in a jar around Thanksgiving in the meat section) and chopped boiled eggs, with celery and onions of course and broth, everyone says "ewwww" until they try it then everyone wants the recipe it is so good!

Wonderful. I'm going to try your shrimp and crab dressing. We traditionally have oyster dressing at our family Christmas dinner. I like it very much but some don't care for oysters so this may become the new dressing of choice. BTW Thanks for the printables.
@samo73674 жыл бұрын
LOVE Old Bay seasoning. This looks so good. I know a lot of people use oysters in their recipe but I can't stand oysters so I might give this a try. Right up my alley as are all of your recipes. Keep up the good work. I don't know how you cook all this stuff without eating it, as I believe you are dieting or limiting your carbs or I think you said you had some sort of bariatric surgery which I'm sure limits what you can eat. You are a good woman for sharing these things with your family and us when you can't even enjoy it ❤️🤗

This looks yummy. Could this be made with the shrimp left out and stuff crabs with it? Like a deviled crab filling? I've tried to make them before but I never thought they were very good. There are a couple restaurants in town that I like them from but I haven't been able to figure out what's in the ones that I do like versus the one's, I don't like. Thanks for sharing!

You will probably never see this, but do you use fresh lump crab meat sold in the refrigerated section or do you use the canned? I just need the clarification. thanks. I mean you probably used refrigerated, but if you use canned, I know it is cheaper, and if you make it, it's always good.
