Thank you Camirra!! I’ve never made dressing before and I’m 58 also. And my husband is the cook in our house. But I saw your easy-to-follow recipe for this dressing, and I knew I HAD to try it. I made it tonight (11/3/23), and it came out PERFECT! I used a little more broth; sunflower oil instead of canola oil; 1/8th of a teaspoon garlic powder equals 1 clove of garlic, and cream of celery instead of the cream of onion, with the cream of chicken. And MAN OH MAN was it good. My hubby tried it and told me don’t order the dressing from our usual caterer this year for Thanksgiving. He said you’re making the dressing baby. Brought tears to my eyes. 🥹 I was SO HAPPY!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾This man is a southern cook raised by his mama from Alabama, and can REALLY cook everything EXCEPT good dressing. 😂So for him to like my dressing so much to want it at the Thanksgiving table. I am SO thankful for you Camirra. Praying all the best for you and your family FOREVER. ❤

When my mother was living, we would have more than 20 "immediate family" members at the table, and we cooked the biggest turkey we could find and a roasting pan of dressing. The next day, we picked the bones and mixed the meat, leftover dressing, and a pan of gravy and baked it the way Ms. Camirra does this recipe. I always enjoyed the meal better this way.

@elizmaybgriffintwo27722 жыл бұрын
Allspice? I know that it's used in pumpkin pies. I switch the pumpkin pie recipe using a sweet potato pie recipe no allspice . The next time I make a chicken cornbread dressing. Ima set aside enough for a half a pie pan. Ima purchase sum allspice and add a little to bake in the pie pan. I don't like allspice in pies. Maybe it'll be good if used another way. I'll try to remember to let u know how it came out? I luv cranberry sauce with my dressing. Didn't like it growing up. I didn't like it until I turned 50.

@@slumdawg1992 I think stuffing is made with breadcrumbs and not cornbread. Also, I believe it was traditionally made to go inside the turkey, hence the name stuffing. Dressing is traditionally a side dish, it doesn't go inside the turkey and it is made with cornbread.

No matter the recipe you might just use the poultry seasoning my family prefers it to sage. If you cheat an use a bag dressing usually we use 1tsp per bag...maybe this will be a help. Many blessings 🌷🌸🌺💐
@merirey67072 жыл бұрын
Just leave out the sage then or only use 1/2 tsp (if you feel you must use)! Not sure what you are doing to make this dry with both soups and the broth from the chicken, but maybe use more liquid when assembling and/or shorten the cook time.

i think the amount of broth has the biggest effect. i think some ppl think they are making it too wet so they hold back. but if you add the egg i feel it pretty much will come together.

You can never put to much sage, next time you make cut up chicken or turkey and cook it with plenty of water in it cook it till the chicken is done and use that to mix your dressing and it will be moist

I just popped this into the oven and fell asleep to your videos last night! I’m going to admit that I did use Jiffy cornbread but I’m not even worried about that. I know we are going to love this!!! The soup is also delicious. Thank you! 😊😊😊 Subscribed and put ingredients on my list!!!

Hey Camirra!Your dressing turned out perfect. I make mines from scratch and I use sausage in mines and I take the turkey giblets along with the wing tips to make the stock. I add in red and green bell pepper for color which is the only thing I do differently from yours. I also make bread herb dressing using old bread I saved and turn into croutons and I sometime do a half cornbread and half herb bread dressing. Keep doing what you're doing because your recipes turn out amazing!!

@@CamirrasKitchen I have a question about the dressing. When using the cream of chicken & cream of onion soup, did you add the water to the mix ? Sense the cans were condensed. I didn't notice in the video

I made your dressing recipe last Thanksgiving, and like you said, it was a hit with my daughter's and friends. So, I would like thank you so much for sharing!!!!!! MUCH LUV❤❤❤ I will be making it again for Easter Sunday.

I think sweet chicken & dressing isn't very good either
@lumariadp10 ай бұрын
That's what I'm saying. If you compensate with the right amount of seasoning, it's not sweet once it's finished. People saying they hate 'sweet' dressing obviously aren't seasoning correctly because baby, it's not sweet once you add all the seasonings and savory elements.
@carriewarren1260Ай бұрын
@DawnieQuel it ain't sweet. There are several savory ingredients in the dish. But if you don't like it, don't use it. It's that simple.
