The main gist of the story is that Darkstalker sends out an Albatross-ghost-illusion-thingy to scare the SeaWings. The ghost finds Turtle in his dungeons and he reminds him of Fathom, so he decides to tell him his life story.

For anyone that hasn't read "Darkness of Dragons" (The 10th book) or is curious if Darkstalker summoning Albatross's ghost is canon or not, in the Epilogue Turtle gets a letter from his mother that says, And I quote: Thank you for the spell you sent to get rid of the Albatross ghost Darkstalker conjured. What a strange and malevolent piece of magic. Everyone is quite relieved it's gone! Sooooooooooooo. It is canon. And hilarious!
