Luton fan here... What can I tell you about Jones.. Has vast experience at lower levels, improved Luton year on year, but he isn’t a quick fix expert. You are not at a lower level , and you don’t have time. I think that is is the wrong appointment, I know Stoke fans will agree. He has a knack of improving players, but with Luton, he had limited resources, and his success was based mostly on work rate . He is not a tactical genius, and to be honest, this season the performances have dropped off, the play was predictable, and the ball spent a lot of the time in the air, I’m assuming most of the Championship managers were getting to know how to play against a Jones team. Good luck, you are going to need it, if you want to cheer yourselves up, suggest watching Luton v Wigan from this year, where the Welsh Guardiola managed to secure a 1-2 defeat from a winning position with 10 minutes to go 😬

Thanks for the brilliant dedication to the (lost) cause , guys. My brother and my Mum were at the game and both couldn't work out what the players were doing for 6 weeks. Kind of feel we've brought this on ourselves really - it's all very well having a young starting 11 and squad if they're quality but we're crying out for some experienced pros who aren't JWP , Theo and McCarthy.

Fulham and Brighton are both in the top half of the table with Brighton looking like outside contenders for Europe, I wouldn't place too much weight on Jones to get something out of those two, especially as he needs to learn the squad and its strengths. Forrest has to be targeted as a win and Jones will have faced Cooper before in the championship which may help.

Play Lyanco CDM. I can't see why that isn't happening or being suggested. Ralph specifically said we bought him as a CB who can play CDM. He's a natural choice. He'd do better there than in CB unless we play him advanced in a three man defence, in which case he's effectively a covering CDM anyway. He's physically and aggression wise much better than anything else we have.

I go back to all my previous comments, Ralph was not the problem. The board and recruitment team are, they brought in championship level players for peanuts (Ings was the exception), we’ve been begging to go down for years. Current players bought in over the summer will all be good PL players in years to come, not now! Need experienced seasoned professionals ASAP. Particularly on the GK department

When you've got a squad of mediocre and inexperience players - no manager can work a miracle. I'd rather they'd have kept Ralph on at least to the end of the season because he probably had a good a chance of keeping Saints up as anybody. I honestly believe Jones is helpless and he's no miracle worker. Wonder why there's no news on Lavia - are they selling him off in January?

I may be wrong, but It could be that the owners are not taking any chances and keeping Lavia injury free for a January offer that's already in the pipeline. Why weren't the fans told within the last 6 weeks that he was injured? It sounds a little far fetched but it could be that the owners are preparing for life in the Championship - new manager, new squad, start again; bringing in and sending players to Turkey. Scary eh!
