I hope he can carry the effort he showed at the end of last season over to this season, there was a lot of talk about his tackling and near the end of the season he seemed to clean some of that up. Hope to see more of that in the future.

Leslie Frazier was glowing when talking about Whoolin a few weeks ago. He was the guy Frazier pointed to when asked who he thought stood out the most. Whoolin definitely has to put the work in, but it could be a lot of fun to watch if this coaching staff can get all his talent to the surface.

Tell you what, for a 6'4" athlete, Woolen has an incredibly smooth transition. Very fluid hips. He draws comparisons with Richard Sherman, but his hip flip is way better and he's twice the athlete. If he can get that dawg that Sherman had in him with just half the work ethic and football IQ...dude's going to be Epic.

@@andremanley7710 what ? WRs don't have to transition, or flip their hips. There's literally not one route, run, or anything they do that causes them to transition like a DB. The only way that helps Woolen is in route recognition.

Thats what speed will do for you. Doesn't have to worry about the WR running by him. He locks in on the technique side of the equation and Woolen could be one of the greats.

Nah, plenty of fast CBs absolutely suck. Technique is what will separate a Woolen from a Kelee Ringo type... I feel why you're saying, though, it's just not as simple as being super fast as most routes have transitions to them.

This is welcome news! Last year he regressed significantly...I strongly suspect coaching had something to do with that! Over-coaching competent staff will frustrate them...And in my experience, footballers are not well positioned as a cohort, to manage up! Great stuff Murf!

Step 1: NEVER mention what someone did in college when they've already been in the league at least half a season. You can go through college and not face any elite WRs on your schedule, which there really weren't in the Big 10 West... Can you name 3 elite QB-WR combos he faced and shut down? I'm talking bout elite to the point that they are also that in the NFL or close to it? Any shut down of a Marvin Harrison Jr or Emeka Ogbuka being thrown to by CJ Stroud or something like that? Not to say you're wrong in your assessment of him, I'm just saying that relying on something like college in an NFL debate doesn't prove you right, either.
