I'd love one of the Red Gurnard - what stunning coloured fish they are. Thanks James.

Another great one Phil, fighting the elements and mr grey. Good hearing everyone got fish shows how good the skipper is when he puts you over fish time after time.
@anotherangleUK11 күн бұрын
Thanks. It can be frustrating when 'Mr Grey' takes your catch but that's just nature and how it is. The trick is to wind your fish in when the seal is busy with someone else's fish 🤗

Absolutely superb footage mate. You've really upped the game with that seal footage!! I need to get back to my drawing board now because of you haha. Great stuff mate well done

Thanks Steve, I have Gordon to thank for the footage but it took real skill to tempt the seal to perform - honestly 😂😂. But "You ain't seen nothing yet" that's all I'm saying.

Another excellent video with plenty o fish aboard the RM. Fantastic underwater footage of that seal plucking the fish of the hook like olives of a toothpick😂😂
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Such accuracy to take the fish just behind the gills. Frustrating but you have to admire it. Still plenty of fish came aboard.

Cracking bit of footage there Phil, Gordon's gadgets win again! Always good to see you catching.

Thanks, always nice to be catching. I'm really impressed with the Waterwolf camera - so clear even at 40 + metres. I'm sure we'll be bring you more of this footage (maybe less of the seal though). Phil.

Great video plenty of fish caught. Those pesky seals lol. Lovely boat I didn’t know Gordon had a charter boat nice
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Hi there, Gordon has been running charters for a while. He built the Rachel May up from a bare hull and has made an excellent job of her. He's also been a commercial fisherman and has extensive knowledge of the area. Phil.

Lovely video and great footage, my kind of fishing that. With the fuel my tank is 220ltrs and I could use that in a day if I wanted, I don't though 😂

Thanks Tommo, makes me appreciate the fuel economy of my little Tohatsu 20hp outboard. The underwater images are amazing. Have a look over on Gordon's channel for more footage.

Fascinating issue! I've had pike and otter attacks in freshwater, but never just brought in heads😂 Good luck 👍 👍👍

The seals will put one ear below the surface and listen for the fish being brought to the surface. They appear to prefer Haddock and Cod. Wrasse and Gurnard don't seem to be taken. It's been most interesting to see the underwater footage of what's going on.

I almost couldn't get past 1000l of fuel!!!! Great footage of the seal! Do the seals become a pain sometimes and can you shake them off?
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Got it in one, they are a pain and there’s not much you can do about it. Just nature taking the easy meal. Look out for some incredible footage on Gordon’s channel later this week 🫣

FINE BUSINESS!!! Different kind of catch for me here in Western Canada! I have caught Covid! Had all the shots and still got it.Guess I am grounded for a while !!! Tight lines!!!

great vid , that pesky seal, great camera capture of it . did the others put back fish or did they keep ,
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Most of the fish went back, only properly in size kept. Skipper Gordon is very strict on size limits and fish care. The Waterwolf camera does a great job, take a look over on FISHnTHINGS where Gordon has a video of a Porbeagle Shark.

When we went decimal in the 70’s it a licence for the business folk to fleece us poor public. When we bought fuel at the pump it was sold by the gallon and when the prices increased it was 2 or 3 pence on a gallon, metric changed that it was 2 or 3 pence on a litre. There’s 4.5 litres in a gallon so that was 4 times more in the increase. Another example was a penny box of matches. For your £1 you could buy 240 boxes afterwards you could only buy 100 boxes. Instant increase in the cost of stuff.
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. You're leaning on an open door here. My first gallon was 0.54 new pence or 12 pence a litre. Hey ho, the good old days 😎

@@anotherangleUK For a wee while here back in the day you could put ten bob (50p) in the fuel pump and buy a gallen o petrol, it was when the garage was closed at night, it didn’t last long

holy smokes was not expecting to see an engine anything like that thats way overkill? what was the boat originally?....expected to see something along the lines of a 4 or 6 pot Volvo penta or yanmar/kubota or the likes...What engine was that? V10 Deutz? CAT? or MAN or what?
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Gordon bought the Rachel May as a bare hull and he fitted her out. Correct MAN V10 a bit of a thirsty beast. I'm sure Gordon @kintakintyea will be able to tell you more. Lovely boat, deep keel and so very stable.
@kintakintyeaАй бұрын
Hi bud, our engine is a 320hp but some put in 5 or six hundred hp in these to get them up on the plane, some do over 30knots, it’s a Procharter 12 metre hull, hope that helps buddy 🎣🐟🐟🐟

Some decent fish there , Seal's are a pain in the Ar,,,e , in my youth if a seal saw you it would disappear , Now they have cottoned on to the fact that some one else can catch their food for them it's pure lazyness on their part . When Fishing down at Berwick upon tweed , the seal would just swim round the boat and steal your fish when hooked , no chance off landing a big fish .
@anotherangleUKАй бұрын
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I suppose you can't blame the seals for taking an easy meal. I mentioned on another comment reply that they seem to prefer the premium fish and don't take Wrasse and Gurnard. Crafty beggars. Phil
