Yes underrated as classic as nile art and a American art yet fully unique

Indigenous American art always strikes me as being of the highest order of expression, and if you're an artist you'll know what I mean. The neg/pos, the recession and shadow, the line itself, the ability to coherently encapsulate both abstract and figurative concepts into a single glyph, it is such a mind blowing complex. From the northernmost carvings to the Mayan stuff, I will never get my head around its deep sophistication. I love talks like this because it helps non practitioners to get a grip on that. Thanks Robert!

I would have loved to ask “does he study the animals, observe them outdoor, before drawing or start from basic rule of thumb?”
