Very nicely done. Likely this motor didn't leak. You are just being thorough, right? But metal shavings and leftover assembly oil really needs to be checked and removed.

I presume this doesnt need to be done for a new motor? Ive just bought one which i am planning on breaking in soon. I didnt really want to take it to bits before i start break in.

The best sealant I have ever used is called Yamabond. I get it from the Yamaha dealer, and it works great. It's like the sealant you used, is the same color, and is great for high temps. It's easier to clean up than the RTV line of sealants. Great video. Is there a way to check for leaks while it's in the truck? On a car, I use carb cleaner or ether and spray a small amount around the carb base to check for leaks.

How does one fix a leak at the front bearing? Very fine looking engine. Likely in for a long life.
@Absolutecorn57674 жыл бұрын
You'll have to replace the front bearing on the crank.

how do you snug down your flywheel nut I usually use a crank lock but in this video you already sealed the back off

What if u get sealant in the engine. Or put it on to thick and it squishes in to the engine???? Do your engines leak a lot??? Y would you risk trashing you engine unless it was in fact leaking already? Kinda seems counterintuitive.

every engine leaks. every engine must be sealed this way to prevent air leaks.

Good vid. But I don't see the point of removing the head. You only need to seal around the back plate, carb seat and pinch bolts. And 3bond is the best sealant known to man. Just make sure you get the right type-semi drying. It sticks to itself. So it will just peel off surfaces. Unlike silicone where you glue parts together. And it's a nightmare to clean off. 3bond is sold under different names. Such as Yamabond and Hondabond4. You can get it from motorcycle dealerships.

haha that head button has the nVision log on it!:P

you could simply use lucky7 sealant so you wouldn't have to disassemble the engine at all.
