General tips/ interesting facts: - Scanners can scan a lot of things (player, technology, scrap metal, rock formation, materials, and other weird things laying around). Hold right click and stay in range to scan them. - Many blueprints scanned from fragments require multiple scans, and that number is indicated in small font on the top-left of your screen. (e.g. overall progress: 33% (1/3)) - The blueprints of many useful materials (e.g. fiber mesh) is discovered by obtaining its ingredients, so you could guess where you could find the fiber mesh from and slash it with your knife. - The data you scan often tell you its application at the very bottom of the page. For instance, the last line of giant coral tube data entry reads "Assessment: Coral tube samples are rich in calcium, exploitable in bleach fabrication." - The top right of the image of the scanned animals in the databank indicate its danger level. - Scrap metals can be refined into titanium - Try scanning and knifing everything, basically. The scaner provide huge amount of information, and the knife is required to get the samples from organisms. - You can read the databank in your escape pod, where you can't drrown or get attacked. - There is a medkit box inside the escape pod. It will produce medkit indefinitely. - Try to fill up the food/water/health bar, then you will have to explore. - There are plants that can hurt you too! - Be careful! Radiation can kill you! (Actually, you died once from radiation) - The thing that exploded was the mothership(The Aurora), not your escape pod - There are stories in this game! It might seems to be out of nowhere at first, but it will eventually pieces together. - Try turning the graphic settings down in the option helps with performance and lagging. (Please like so that she can see) Personal comment: Please scan the interesting animals and plants and review their biology decribed in the "Databank" section. I'm always interested in the biology in this game and wanted to know how it compares to real life! I love your content, keep it up!
@jiawa59464 жыл бұрын
This is nice, everything she needs to know right now! Especially about the scrap metal! It takes a lot of space and there is no other use for it except to turn it into Titanium at the fabricator and you will need the titanium. Also, eat and drink and medkit until alll of the bars are full. Then you will have more time to explore. Good luck and waiting for the next one.

I just came across your channel a week or two ago and I am so happy I did, I love subnautica in general but with you and your expertise, it makes it even more fun! There is a lot to this game and I have spent a lot of time playing so I don't know if you want some tips on how to get exploring more since you're doing great figuring it out on your own but if you do here ya go! First, make sure to make a repair tool and use it on the broken panel next to your crafting station, this will help progress the storyline and help give you more direction as it repairs your radio and a red light will blink on I think you just can click to listen to it. (The recipe is already unlocked and under tools in the fabricator) Also, I would definitely recommend making the seaglide and making sure you upgrade your o2 tank to help you search around for more parts and tools to scan with your new scanner. There are a ton of things out there to help you that you need to scan, both little parts and big. There are also tons of crash sites scattered around with many different parts to scan, for example submarine like vechiles, the first one you will get is the seamoth and it will definitely help you explore deeper caves. You can unlock the seamoth recipe by finding and scanning broken parts of seamoths scattered around. You'll also need to find and scan parts for a mobile vehicle bay unit that you use to craft the seamoth. Finally, I think you have picked up on this but just to be sure, to get different minerals and such you can break those rock outcrops and different types will give you different minerals. You may need to travel to different areas/biomes to find those other outcrops. I think I will leave it here for now, but I can't wait to continue watching you progress through the game! :)

You actually made a lot of progress this time. The thing is that this game is kind of slow, so a lot of the time you're just gathering resources, chasing down fish with your scanner or using the fabricator to build stuff. You're on a great pace, but expect to make a few more edits as the series continue. Also you died do to radiation poisoning (it slowly chips away your health.)

In addition to the classic "Scan everything" tip, I recommend looking over your available blueprints from time to time. Often there are very helpful items you can make that are easy to overlook, like the storage boxes. Also, don't be afraid to explore areas that seem dangerous. If there's a threat, observe how it behaves, and adjust your approach accordingly. I would recommend exploring the closest biomes to your starting location, I. E. the Kelp Forests That death towards the end was because of the radiation. It spreads slowly from the wreckage of the Aurora, but it won't spread as far as the biome called "Safe Shallows", where your lifepod is.

Love this series! Subnautica is one of my favorite games of all time, and it's always fun to watch a new player learning about it - especially a biologist! You figured out most of the scanner, but so much of the game and the thoughtful design of the alien biology is in the scan logs, so couple of tips! -You have to hold down the right mouse button to scan everything, which is tricky with the quicker or more dangerous fish. Keep at it! If you continue scanning the same target it will keep the same percentage until you succeed. -Don't read the database entries out in open water, that's a good way to drown or get chomped! Try to keep a mental field log and read through them when you get back to base. -Read through the whole entry! Especially with fish and resources, there's really useful information about behavior and clues on how to get other resources or the best way to catch a certain fish. I bet your KZbin audience would love to see your biologist insight on the alien descriptions too! Good luck, and keep going! It can be a really long game but the more you explore and learn, the easier it is to survive. Soon you won't have to worry about water so much!

Advice: Scan Everything ... Read Everything ...
@sergarlantyrell78473 жыл бұрын
It's amazing to me to see how much of games we take for granted (ie how unintuitive some elements are) like when the cursor turns into a little rotating icon when pointing at something you can scan (or a hand for interact). But it's also really fun to watch for that moment of realisation when you figure something out so thanks. I think if I could give some advice it would be: 1) Most of the scanable things can also be cut with a knife, so experiment around to see if that gives you anything useful. 2) Stockpile food and water (and make sure when you eat or drink you fill-up the whole hydration wheel so you don't need to drink every 2 mins) 3) Get every tool you can, they're all vital sooner or later. 4) Have a goal and plan what you need... I still make "shopping lists" for all the resources I need to get to my next tool, or vehicle or base etc. 5) Try to think logically about where to get materials... Eg for fibre mesh, what around you, be it plant, animal or mineral is likely going to be fiberous?

If you haven’t already, I would recommend reading through the other sections of the database, not just the biological data. There’s some information about the planet, the world/universe, and Altera, the corporation your character worked for, along with some basic tips and beginning advice for just surviving. As many have already said, use the knife to collect samples of plants and coral, and you can continue to move while scanning an object. Some blueprints only appear after obtaining a material required, like for fibre mesh, you need to cut a sample of a kelpy equivalent. For simple reference, right mouse button is “use tool” and left is “pick up” pretty much. It’s really fun seeing you learn as you go, I can’t wait for more!
@Zancibar4 жыл бұрын
Hey, just so you know, you may want to edit the parts where you're actively preparing (like when you try to catch fish to eat or drink) to be shorter or take them out entirely. I personally dont mind and I'm sure a lot of us don't but if you see views getting low as the series progresses you may want to try it. Edit: Also I did learn that salt water dehydrates because of a flaw in cellular osmosis. I didn't know that.

Really enjoyed this! If you go to the biome with the large green kelp (the ones you got the yellow seed clusters from) you can hit it with a knife to get a sample, then turn it into fiber mesh (you can use fiber mesh to make radiation suit). PRO TIP: scan EVERYTHING! (Hold right click) you can scan all the plants, animals, wrecks, fragments, etc. then make sure to read what it says and use that information to craft stuff. Just a couple things to help out! - Absolutly NO shame in going to the Wiki, I'd just say try to avoid spoilers but if you're looking for a material or anything it's a good resource. - You can eat practicaly every fish you can pick up - The coral you want is from the coral tubes, not the table coral (Table coral you do need for computer chips and other recipies) - A good direction on what to do next is what you can build on the equipment screen of the fabricator, for example, I highly reccomend building the Repair Tool. - You can get creepvine samples from the creepvine with your knife, that leads to fiber mesh. - Breaking limestone outcrops will give you Titanium and Copper, Sandstone will give you silver, gold, and lead. Sandstone outcrops are mostly found in the creepvine area. - You can turn the metal salvage into titanium, I reccomend you do that wehenver you can because metal salvage can't be used for anything else. - Again, feel free to look up where to find anything on the wiki

This is an awesome series! I am enjoying you watch and interact with the environment. Because I know you want to progress and see more of the world, just know that this is a game of technical progression. The easiest (meaning ones that you had to start with) fabricator recipes are ones you can create with items that are the easiest to get. You can and SHOULD experiment with all the recipes to unlock more of them - some are unlocked by fabricating the base item first. Those items will allow you to go deeper and explore more areas, where you get resources to unlock and create items that allow you to go even deeper, etc.

As a gamer, it's easy for me to forget that games have a kind of lexicon that's transferrable between different games, that non-gamers aren't used to. So we don't need inventory management systems or clicking on things or crafting menus explained to us. And most of us develop obsessives hoarder playstyles where we'll do things like stock up on water and then build up more storage to store more water than we can possibly drink. Then realize stupidly, in our greed, that we built an entire fortress around filtering seawater and now we have twenty lockers filled with water bottles. And it doesn't matter because we have a stillsuit that recycles our body water now. So now we're Scrooge MacDuck Water Lords.

Hi there! You’re making me rediscover my live for the ocean, and it is a fantastic voyage to go on with you. I discovered subnautica earlier this year, and I’ve played the whole game twice. It is a fantastic, immersive experience, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have! So, you’re actually doing pretty well so far. You’re always keeping food on hand, scanning as you go, and learning about your environments. Paying attention to your surroundings is very important in this game! Here are some few tips to help you: Your most important blueprints can be found in the kelp forests. Try to get yourself a seaglide and a seamoth. Once you get those, you can start thinking about building a base. I’d suggest reading your scans back in a safe zone. I know it’s tempting to learn in the field, but the field is full of sharks, and you have limited oxygen. I would come back from a long trip, sit down in my base, and just read... amazing stuff. Learn to orient yourself by the ship and your beacons. You really don’t want to get lost, especially on longer trips. Always know where you are. There is a bit of an ecosystem in the game. Predators will actually hunt nearby food, and Stalkers like to chew on metal scraps! Just be cautious in areas that appear depleted and empty. There may be a reason life doesn’t stick around... Good luck, and have fun! I am looking forward to seeing what you do!

Good video! Thank you for continuing. Your biology commentary really is interesting. To avoid feeling frustrated for the food/water pressure, you can pick up as many fish in one trip as you've room in your inventory, so you can do "water runs" and pick up like 10 bladder fish in the same trip and stock on water. That way you need to do it less often. As the game progresses you'll find other ways that are even easier to make all the water and food you need, so don't worry.
