- No, you can't get the sunbeam to land, despite the weapon being inactive it switches back into an active state and shoots it down, which is a shame really! I feel like speed runners should be rewarded with an early game alternate rescue :)

To all those people who ACTUALLY want to save the sunbeam you have to ignore the radio by not using it until you get the cure and shut down the gun. Once that is done the sunbeam will inform you that they’re not able to do the landing (during the attempted rescue). This is the only to avoid the destruction of the sunbeam

You can save the sunbeam by disabling the gun before the transmission, you'll then get a transmission saying that there is debris and from the Aurora and they can't land and send data to altaria

You can save the SUNBEAM by getting cured BEFORE the countdown ever activates. They will say that there is a Debris field around the planet left over from the Aurora, and that they cant land. (I actually did this in my own run and saved the sunbeam :D ) EDIT after a year: Debris

While, it is probably true that the developers never planned for an alternate ending, there is also the possibility that you need to do the actual quest to get the cure because a lot of things are different when you do the quest.

but you already had the rescue mission active and the sunbeam timer active when you cured yourself with console commands. What you should have done (don't know if this is possible): don't use console commands to cure yourself delay the rescue misssion by ignoring the radio visit the sea emperor leviathan craft the cure and use it, and only then use the radio to start the rescue mission.

Well, there is another way to take it in... The precurser gun has now shut down for whatever wants to leave the planet as it is now uninfected but becomes active when something enters the atmosphere as there would be a chance of the guests to bring in more such infections to the land

I love Subnautica hope they keep making more. Maybe add an interaction for going into the void, if you can reach the bottom you'll learn something very useful like blueprints for a Cosmo map that you can use to escape after making an escape ship. I'd imagine the sunbeam crew ejected before they were shot down. Use a sunbeam character that survived. I would like to explore a new planet and travel to it using a constellation map. There's so much more to create in Subnautica story and gameplay it's awesome

The Sunbeam's supposed to not attempt rescue since the debris field is too large, but that's only if you turn the tower off before the Sunbeam messages you about landing.

Damn at least you got something, I cured myself with commands to see and they just said that they were blocked from coming due to a massive amount of debris caused by the Aurora, did it like 20 minutes onto the countdown

If you run through the game before answering your radio, and get the gun off before the countdown starts, the sunbeam won't save you, but will instead say its too difficult to reach you.
